“I think that can be misconstrued in the world of likes, I do it because I mean I can do it, and it’s not really about that.” The night agent star, 30, said during an appearance on Tuesday, January 14, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “For me it’s about immersing the audience.”
Basso stars in the Netflix series as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who works at the White House as a Night Action operator. He told Fallon, 50, that when the audience watches The night agenthe wants them to think his performance is believable.
“I don’t want the audience to watch the show, and then when I’m about to get punched or thrown or thrown on the back, you know. It seems to me that it is a lie”, said the actor. “I like to act, I don’t like to lie.”
For Basso, he sees it as a “change” when it comes to performing stunts “for the sake of immersing the audience” and “for the sake of believability.”
“They like Peter (and) it’s important to watch him hit shots, I think,” he explained. “And if that requires me to jump into a wall, then fine. It’s not the end of the world.”

Courtesy of NetflixOne stunt that was on the table for Basso was skydiving – which he already does in his personal life.
“(Netflix) brought it up as an idea and then I was like, ‘Oh, I’m already skydiving.’ I’m going to do it,” Basso said. “But then security called and said, ‘Stop it.’ “
Fallon then showed a photo of Basso skydiving.

The late-night host then realized he was holding Basso’s photo upside down in the air. Basso said his shot in the sky “looked cooler from the other side” as his back was seemingly facing the ground.
“I like this. That’s hard to do,” Fallon teased before returning the pose to his chair. “You really need to arch your back.”
Last month, Basso made an epic Netflix goalie jump during the Christmas Day football game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. Basso parachuted out of the plane in Houston. After completing the stunt, he then revealed that the season 2 trailer for The night agent fallen.
“It was nice to see Houston from a plane. Definitely a memory!” Basso told Netflix’s Tudum in December 2024.
The night agent Season 2 will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, January 23.
