Parantir is taking advantage of a “rotating door” of executives and officials passing between the $ 264 billion data intelligence company and high -level positions in Washington and Westminster, creating an impact network that has led its extraordinary growth.

The US group, whose billionaire leader Peter Thiel has been a leading supporter of Donald Trump, has enjoyed a stunning rally of stock prices in the back of strong sales growth from government contracts and deal with the largest corporations in the world.

Detailed findings from the TTP Transparency Project (TTP), which analyzed transparency disclosure and dozens of work movements, as well as public data of the US and Great Britain obtained from the Financial Times, show how Parantir extensively employed by critical government agencies for its sales.

The analysis reveals the American group’s impact network which includes: deep links to the largest client, the Defense Department; a sixfold increase in lobbying costs in the US in the previous decade; and the creation of a non -profit foundation to finance academic research and to form policy discussions.

Parantir has earned more than $ 2.7BN in US contracts since 2009, including over $ 1.3BN in Pentagon contracts, according to federal data. In the UK, Parantir has been given more than 376 million in in contracts, according to Tussell, a data provider. Parantir refused to comment.

Leaders of the company “have their fingerprints throughout the transition and administration of Trump,” said Bill Hartung, a senior research associate at the Quincy Institute for responsible statecraft.

“Silicon Valley said” we don’t have to lobby because we have a superior product “, but now it’s everything in politics.”

Parantir argues that its data analysis products are in demand by clients including BP and Hertz because of their market leadership ability to analyze complicated information groups. Her technology is estimated to help kill Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, distributing Covid-19 vaccines and condemning financier Bernard Madoff.

Parantir Chief Alex Karp – an open democratic donor who supported Trump’s opponent, Kamala Harris – said he would earn further from the expected focus of the new president on budget efficiency, as well as the highest spending on national security.

Its shares increased 340 percent during 2024, when it was the highest performer in the S&P 500. The best executives of Parantir, Thiel and Karp, have earned over 1bn dollars for sale of shares since the November election victory .

“This is a revolution. Some people will interrupt their heads,” Karp said, announcing quarterly stellar profits on Monday that sent shares to new levels. “We’re looking forward to seeing really unexpected things and win.”

Rotating door

While Elon Musk has appeared as Silicon’s biggest booster of Trump, Thiel was the champion of the tech sector president during his first campaign in 2016.

The investor also played a crucial role in climbing JD Vance, starting the new capital’s capital career of the new Vice President before becoming the largest donor in his campaign for the US Senate in 2022.

Thiel cast a celebration celebration for Trump’s inauguration at his home in DC last month, attended by Vance as Silicon Valley as Mark Zuckerberg of Meta and Sam Altman Openai.

Following the US elections in November, Trump began eavesdropping on Parantir’s leaders for the government’s leading roles.

Jacob Helberg, a senior Karp adviser, was appointed as secretary of state for economic growth, energy and the environment, which would make it high economic policy and trade in the State Department.

Meanwhile, Gregory Barbaccia, who worked in Parantir for a decade by 2020, was appointed leading Federal Information Officer at the President’s Executive Office, overseeing the country’s $ 70 billion budget.

Parantir has also gathered former lawmakers and government officials both from Republican and Democrat.

In August, she recruited Mike Gallagher, a former customsman of the Republic who headed the China Chamber Election Committee to help identify contract opportunities. He resigned from the room in April 2024 and under federal politics it is forbidden to lobby the Congress for one year.

In 2023, Parantir hired Geof Kahn, a former CIA veteran who worked on the Trump 2016 transition team, and Jamie Fly, a former foreign and national security adviser at Florida’s Governor, Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of Trump.

Since 2019, she has employed former senior defense and legal officials, such as Trump administration appointees Matthew Shame and Alexander Alden, Obama era staff and former Biden Olorunnipa Badejo.

At least six individuals have moved between Parantir and the Pentagon Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO), an office that oversees the approval of data, analytics and the Department of Defense, according to TTP.

Meanwhile, Joe Lonsdale, a capitalist of entrepreneurship and co -founder of Parantir, has played a central role in the establishment and staff of the Musk Government Efficiency Department, a new advisory group seeking to cut federal budget swatches.

A close ally of Tesla chief Lonsdale also helped create and fund the PAC pro-trump America, who became the vehicle through which Musk donated over $ 239 million in Trump’s campaign.

These types of movements allow companies like Parantir to gain “reliability in Capitol Hill”, said Jeff Hauser, executive director of the rotating door project, and help them “exert a direct and indirect impact on contracting and divisions”.

Hauser added: “Parantir is doing it because it has been proven over the decades that the rotating door can help companies win more contracts.”

Increasing lobbying

In October, Parantir hired the firm of one of Washington’s most prominent corporate lobbyists Miller Strategies to lobby defense policy and divisions, according to federal discoveries.

The firm’s head, Jeff Miller, had set himself as a lobby to influence the Trump administration during the first term of office. His other technology customers include Spacex, Amazon and Apple.

In general, Parantir increased costs for lobbying last year to $ 5.8 million, from about $ 1 million in 2015, according to federal discoveries. However, this is compared to $ 12.3 million from Google, and $ 12.4 million and $ 8.8 million from traditional protection companies Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman respectively.

Parantir has also supported the creation of a lobby trade group, the new US industrial alliance, which is advised by former Trump administration officials and aims to regulate Pentagon’s work with defense contractors. It is also supported by the Lonsdale 8VC Entrepreneurship Firm.

In 2023, it launched the Parantir Foundation for Defense Policy and Afferass International Affairs, which gained non -profit taxes exempt.

The group said it is a “non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing national security”, and was created to influence policy discussions by funding academic research and receiving conferences. She publishes a diary called the Republic, with its first issue that represents an essay entitled, ‘Do not allow copyright to kill the American one.’

Palantir has used a similar book in the UK. Her British business is supervised by Louis Mosley, a former activist at the Conservative Party, while the head of the UK Corporate Affairs Ben Mascall was previously adviser to the Ministry of Defense and Head of Strategic Communications at Downing Street.

Prior to earning a contract worth up to 330 million with NHS in November 2023 to help manage patient data, Parantir recruited two senior NHS officials specializing in him and data, an action that raised concerns regarding the growing company of the company with the health service.

Parantir has also employed civil servants from the departments, including the Ministry of Defense in the United Kingdom and the Interior Office, and has established other links with British government officials. She has used former high-level civil servants, such as former MI6 Sir John Sawers, to introduce mediator to the United Kingdom Government.

The company has been a client of Global Couunsel, the lobbying firm founded by Peter Mandelson’s workman Peter Mandelson – the British Ambassador who comes to the US Lobby Expenditure data is not publicly available in the United Kingdom.

Parantir attended at least 13 ministerial meetings between 2022 and 2023, but also extended hospitality such as drinks and dinners for senior officials such as Caroline Belmy, the leading data officer at the Ministry of Defense, where Parantir has a $ 75 million contract.

In January 2024, Thiel personally met with Lord Dominic Johnson, then Minister of Investment, to “develop a relationship”, according to documents issued in FT under transparency laws.

Johnson planned to address concerns about the lack of access to the European market from Parantir’s defense and opened the United Kingdom as a “world leadership destination and incubator for the philanthropy of entrepreneurship”, the documents show.

According to the edited meetings notes much of FT, Thiel expressed pessimism about the United Kingdom economy, citing high taxes, low growth and “the fact that growth is run by immovable property than innovation as technology”.
