Twitch Director General Dan Clancy published an open letter on Thursday describing the platform plans for 2025, which include future features, updates of mobile experience, as well as a significant change in its money gain policy.
Attention, Clancy revealed that Twitch is opening the subscriptions and “pieces”, the virtual items that viewers buy to cheer on transmitters, for “most” creators, no matter how many followers they have.
The change aims to democratize the process of earning money on Twitch, enabling a wider range of creators to win as they engage their audience. Previously, only Twitch’s associates and partners had access to reconciliation and pieces and had to meet specific criteria to qualify. This included at least 50 followers, maintaining an average of three simultaneous viewers for flow, and reaching at least eight hours of accumulated transmission time per week.
The company is also presenting a new option that “will allow all broadcasters to use their own income in buying within Twitch,” Clancy added but did not provide specific details.
In addition to this significant change in money -making policy, Clancy detailed further initiatives for Twitch in 2025. One of them involves creating an additional opportunity for transmitters to generate revenue during cooperation.
The new feature, called “common hype trains”, allows broadcasters to participate together or joint conversations to join a hype train, which is where members can gather to support their favorite broadcasters. Creators will also be able to start and manage joint conversation sessions directly from the mobile application.
Another way in which Twitch plans to improve revenue opportunities for transmitters is to present an easier way for creators to express interest in cooperating with brands. Plus, the platform is starting a new tool to help brands discover new channels to partner.
The company also plans to expand its promotional offers and explore options that allow transmitters to provide discounts and promotions during special events.
As for the mobile viewing experience, Twitch will soon offer both landscape options and vertical video options. The company is also presenting a new feature that enables viewers to respond to specific moments in a stream using pieces.

Moreover, the ability to create custom electricity is on the way out. Power-driving are effects that can be used during streams, such as adding a colorful limit around a message or sending a larger version of an emote.
The company is also presenting updates to the clips, aiming to make the editing process milder and provide a new feature to highlight real -time moments. There will also be more automated methods to identify the best moments in a stream.
These updates follow the latest Twitch announcement of a major change in his content preservation policy. Starting from April 19, the platform will impose a 100 -hour lid on storing the main points and charged contents, limiting how much content users can hold on their channels.
