A personal finance company was recently set to determine the most “sinful” states in 2025 – and the results show a mix of red and blue states.
In a study published on February 24, Wallethub wrote that Republicans and Democrats “may want to show each other as the source of everything that is wrong with the US, but the truth is that each of the 50 states has its virtues and vices.”
Analysts compared 54 key indicators of immoral behavior in all 50 countries, including the history of internet browsing, violent per capita crimes, alcohol use and gambling.
Here is the list of smaller smaller states, according to Wallethub:

1. Nevada
Nevada’s point in the first place is surprising to most, considering Las Vegas’ reputation as “Sin City”.
But Wallethub said that gambling and lust are not the only sins related to the state, but also Glutton.
“The state also has the most prostitution arrests in the US and the second highest number of fast food restaurants, indicating that lust and gluttonia both have a reception,” the study said.

“Sadly, Nevada’s pre-section with its vices leaves little room for altruism, as the state has the second lowest level of volunteers in the country. The state also suffers from the second highest degree of detached young people (young people who are not at school or working),” Wallethub added.

Las Vegas also ranked high on the list of the most entertaining cities in America. (Istock)
California, meanwhile, was placed in second place due to “third -party shooting and older abuse complaints”, according to the report. The Hollywood connection to Vanity also contributed to the ranking.
“It also has the third highest level of harassment on school property, and a very high number of arrests of aggravated per capita attacks,” the study revealed. “It is clear that the greatest sins of residents include anger and hatred.”
Florida settled in third place due to the predominance of white collar crimes in the state of the Sun, as well as its inhabitants, ranking a lot for “sinful” internet searches.
“Greed increases its ugly head in the state, as it ranks second when it comes to the number of identity thefts and per capita fraud complaints,” Wallethub said. “Violent crimes driven by anger and hatred are also a problem, as Florida has the fifth higher number of mass shots.”

California came to #2 on the most “sinful” list of states, according to a Wallethub study. (Istock)
“In addition, many Floridians show lusts in their online customs. Sunshine state residents rank fourth in Google’s search for terms related to adultery, prostitution and pornography,” the study added. “Florida ranks high for Google searches associated with vanity for terms such as liposuction and breast addition, too.”
Wallethub Chip Lupo analyst noted that while negative behavior of individuals “can affect only a few people, when these behaviors are exposed by a high part of a state’s population, most of the inhabitants of the state suffer as a result.

Wallethub’s study found that Floridians engaged in some not -so -pleasant online research. (Istock)
“States should invest in resources to help people curb vices, such as strong rehabilitation programs for people with gambling and drug addiction,” Lupo suggested.
