Kansas Frontman Ronnie Platt He has offered an update on his health after his latest thyroid cancer diagnosis.
“I’m home! The doctor said my operation could not have gone better, ”Platti, 64, announced through his Facebook account on Wednesday, March 5.
Platt confirmed in February that he would have to be temporarily withdrawn from the Kansas tour to undergo treatment for thyroid cancer. The singer was assured by his doctors that he had a “99 percent survival rate” because the disease had not spread.
In his new Facebook message, Platt credited to Kansa’s loyal fans for holding his high spirits with their supporting messages over a very difficult time.
“I felt the power of everyone’s prayers and positive energy! You all helped me (through) this. How can I, or can I ever thank everyone for that!? Day 1 of recovery here I am, ”he wrote.
As Platt began his path to healing, he promised his followers on social media that he was committed to “returning to what (he does) best”.
“Yes, singing, but my real work is entertaining you all and helping you, at least for a few hours, forget your problems and replenish your batteries. I get a lot of pride in this,” he finished his message.
Platt had earlier encouraged Kansa’s fans not to worry about his condition as his doctors discovered his thyroid cancer early.

Kansas then canceled concerts in New Orleans on Friday, February 21st and Lake Charles on Saturday, March 1 due to “gang disease and doctor’s counseling”.
“The group apologizes for the concern and hopes to return to the street soon,” Kansas said in a statement at the time.
