The Russian armed forces addressed the energy and gas infrastructure of Ukraine in their latest drone and rocket attack, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine said on Friday.
Regional civil servants from the northeastern city of Kharkiv to the western city of Ternopil stated to damage energy and other infrastructures. Eight people were injured in Kharkiv and two more, including one child, were injured in Poltava, officials said.
“Russia continues its energy count,” said the German Energy Minister Galuschenko on Facebook. “Again, the energy and gas infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine has come under massive rockets and drone fire.”
“Wherever possible, rescuers and strength engineers work to eliminate the consequences. All necessary measures are taken to stabilize electricity and gas supply,” he added.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia fired a salt of 67 rockets and 194 drones in the overnight attack and added that it shot 34 of the missiles and 100 of the drones.
For the first time, the Ukraine hired French Mirage-200,000 fighter planes a month ago to ward off the attack, according to the Air Force. Ukraine also has F-16 fighter planes supported west to shoot off Russian rockets.
First attack since the announcement of the US withdrawal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for an armistice in the air and at sea as well as additional pressure on Russia.
“The first steps to create a real peace should be to force the only source of this war, Russia, to stop such attacks,” said Zelenskyy in the Telegram app.
Russia, which previously concentrated its rocket and drone attacks on the Ukrainian electricity sector, has greatly strengthened its attacks on Ukrainian gas storage and production fields in recent months.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Friday that its armed forces had carried out strikes with long-distance air, sea and land-based precision weapons against what it described as gas and energy infrastructure to support the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.
The attack on Friday was the first large-scale attack from Russia since the suspension of the US military aid and the secret service in the past few days by the government of President Donald Trump, who stopped military help for Ukraine and the division of secret services in a reversal of the US guidelines under the predecessor Joe Biden.
Trump and his Vice President JD Vance are suspected of being a remarkable exhibition, which was recorded in the Oval Office a week ago, not to be grateful enough for American support, even though there were modest signs of re -hiring between the USA and Ukraine this week.
Zelenskyy said late Thursday that he would travel to Saudi Arabia next Monday to meet a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman before the talks were spoken there later a week between the USA and Ukrainian officials.
“Ukraine is ready to pursue the way to peace, and it is Ukraine who strives for peace from the first second of this war. The task is to force Russia to stop war,” said Zelenskyy in his telegram message on Friday.
Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff, who has already had extensive discussions with Russian officials, said that he was in discussions with Ukraine for a peace agreement and confirmed that a meeting with the Ukrainians in Saudi Arabia was planned next week.
Hungary orban an influence on the EU promise
Ukraine is inferior to the battlefield and the Russian armed forces occur in the eastern region of Donetsk, albeit slowly, and increase the great pressure on the Ukrainian troops that try to keep the territory in the Russian region.
A statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense on Thursday said that his forces had captured the village of Andriivka – west of the Kurakhove logistics center, which Moscow had taken in early January.
The general staff of the Ukrainian military did not mention that Andriivka fell into Russian hands. In a late evening report, however, the settlement mentioned one out of five, which attacked the Ukrainian defense in the Pokrovsk sector in the Donetsk region in Pierce in 17 attempts by the Russian armed forces.
The European Union is considering a plan for Ukraine with an aid of more than $ 1 trillion, and defense spending after Donald Trump’s suspension of military aid to Kyiv fueled the concerns that the EU can no longer rely on US protection before Russian aggression.
The European heads of state and government planned to spend more for defense on Thursday and to continue to stand by Ukraine in a world that is built through changes in American support. However, the declaration of support comes from 26 countries of the European Union, not all 27.
The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban refused to support the explanation and said on Friday that the EU could not afford like an engagement. Orban said the way the EU now wants to support Ukraine and at the same time want to promote its own defense spending in Europe, would “ruin Europe”.
“Today it seems that I have led a veto. But within a few weeks they will come back and it will turn out that there is no money for these goals,” he said in a state radio outside.
Orban has refused to send weapons to Ukraine since the beginning of the war in 2022, and has kept close relationships with both Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
