Natasha Jonas will leave to decide whether it’s time for her to withdraw from boxing after her loss to Lauren Price at Royal Albert Hall on Friday night.
Jonas was easily beaten by the price at a unanimous loss of the decision to the Olympic champion, which always seemed one of the elite women’s boxing operators on the way to the unquestionable status.
The 40-year-old handed her her belts of IBF and WBC Welterweight while Price added to her WBA title to become a unified champion while leading a historic card of all women.
It can mark the last time Jonas enters the ring to compete while it weighs its next step.
“Natasha must have time away with her family and daughter, go on vacation and she will make her decision when she returns,” coach Joe Gallagher told Sky Sports.
“At what she chooses to do, I would support her. A year ago I was asking her to retire as she defeated Michaela Mayer, so everyone knows how I feel about it. She (the price) was just a little too fast and very sharp at night.”
Jonas, no foreigner to interrogate views on her future over the past year, alluded to the post -war retirement.
“I think emotions are working up now and Joe is asking me to retire for a very long time,” she said in her post -war interview.
“I actually like to sit next to you Andy (Scott), Anna (Woolhouse) and Johnny (Nelson) and commenting so we may see it afterwards.
“But now I will go home and spend time with my daughter.”
Pricemim had repeatedly warned during the construction that it would testify very soon, very young and very good for Jonas. She testified just as in the pronounced style, having Jonas’s experience, severity, ability and intelligence with a perfect fast -paced cocktail, lightning hands, smart masking, smart variation and an unstable exit from any corner of the ring.
After all, it was less about what Jonas did not do more for the level of talent that lit it down.
“Lauren Price was soon out of the blocks, I thought I had it 2-1 at one point, I thought Natasha was taking my pockets really well with the back of the bullet, but after that she found her groove and started pulling out and Tasha was starting to take Lauren in situations where she would see,” Lauren said.
“Someone told me” was like (Anthony) Crolla “he was great in the camp for his last war, and then when he entered it was a second divided with his time and that was what was for Natasha.
“But remove nothing from Lauren. It was her night, a fantastic show for her and she will turn into Wales and we wish the good fortune of the future in her career.
“I thought the stretch, we were able to lower some good backs on the top, but Tasha could not get the second or third while Lauren was resting. Full credit.”
Jonas has long cemented her heritage as one of the leading pioneers of women’s boxing, becoming the first British female boxer to compete in an Olympic Game in London 2012 before she continued to become a world champion in February 2022.
She has since become the first woman to win the British British Brovis British British Boxer of the year in 2022, as well as becoming a world -weight champion in the midst of a period of splendor in the final years of her career.
“Country affairs. Made story. I have to say a massive thanks to Tasha, the perfect dance partner,” Price said after the war.
“A complete honor to share the ring with her and I respect her, not just what she has done for women’s boxing, but for boxing.
“It has been an honor that shares the ring, so thank you.”
The pricing was not shocked by putting her images in the indisputable dominance in the near future as she now aims to fight Mikaela Mayer and Rematch of Sandy Ryan, which is planned for March 29.
Mayer came out second best in a loss of the divided decision to Jonas in Liverpool in January 2024, but reached the WBO Welterweight title when she defeated Ryan with the majority decision in New York last September.
“I’m not sure (if the price can become indisputable),” Gallagher said. “I think Mikaela Mayer is a very good fighter. There is an unfinished business, Sandy Ryan beat Lauren in amateurs, so she would be able to this.
“Lauren gets up tonight with a better class person and performing like this will give her a great deal of confidence again. What does it mean that she can’t be indisputable? But Mayer is a good versatile fighter.”
