Nvidia says he has ordered more than a million square meters of production space to build and try the chips in Arizona and Texas as part of an attempt to move part of the production in the US
Chipmaker says that Nvidia Blackwell chips have begun production in TSMC chip plants in Phoenix, Arizona, and that Nvidia is building “Supercomputer” production plants in Texas, Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas. In Arizona, Nvidia is partnership with AMKOR and Spil for packaging and testing operations, the company added.
Mass production in Arizona and Texas plants is expected to grow in the next 12-15 months, according to Nvidia. Within the next four years, the company aims to produce up to half a trillion dollar infrastructure in the SH.BA
“Infrastructure engines in the world are first being built in the United States,” Nvidia Jensen Huang said in a statement. “Adding American production helps us to better meet the extraordinary and growing demand for a he and the supercomputers, strengthens our supply chain and increases our resistance.”
The announcement comes day after Nvidia reportedly avoiding export controls at its H20 chips. According to the NPR, H20, the most advanced chip of that produced by Nvidia that can still be exported by the US in China, was saved thanks to a promise by Huang for the Trump administration to invest in the new data centers in the SH.BA
Many of his companies besides Nvidia have relied on Trump’s “First America” approach to him on offers to save favor with the administration. Openai joined Softbank and Oracle for a US $ 500 billion database initiative called the Stargate project in January. Microsoft promised $ 80 billion to build he databases in his 2025 fiscal year, with 50% of that assigned to the SH.BA
Trump has certain strong partners to get his desired result. He reportedly told TSMC Taiwanese semiconductor that he would have to pay a tax of up to 100% if the company did not build new chip factories in the US
