Conor Benn has suggested that he can fight Manny Pacquiao next if a match with Chris Eubank JR does not materialize.
Benn was beaten in a brutal battle, with 12 rounds last month at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Eubank JR winning unanimously.
Following the consequence of the competition, Benn insisted he wanted “revenge”, and while the 28-year-old is still eager for another blow, he insists he has abundant opportunities that may even include the Filipino legend Pacquiao.
Talking to talk Sports Sky ‘ Craig Slater in Miami GP, Benn said: “Remains of (Eubank JR) is in demand. Not too rare to get fighting of that size and people want a match.
“I think the loss was controversial, it could have gone the same way. The results were very wide. But ultimately I will do my best to make sure it won’t happen next time.
“But we all have the opportunity. I could fight Rolly Romero, who has just captured the WBA world title. I can fight Mario Barrios for the WBC world title.”
Asked if those options may include 46-year-old Pacquiao, who will come out of retirement this summer to face Barrios for the WBC Welterweight title, Benn said: “He is passing his database, but he is still a legend-one of the greatest of all time-like or, or, or, or.
“I’m 28 years old. We’re in different spectrum of our career now. He’s got ready, I’m just starting.”
Benn had pledged to give Eubank Jr quick punishment before seeing judges rule against him 116-112.
But he said the messages of the support he had received for the result were of little comfort, admitting that he made a “novice mistake” at night.
He said: “It was so close and I am disappointed when I left the war to be so close, because when I say something, I have the word completely. So when I said I would take it out in four rounds, I fully believed that I would do.
“There were many times when I had seen his legs shaken; I just couldn’t finish it. He duck and he kept well.
“But next time there will be much less emotion. I fought with a lot of emotion, entering there trying to lift my head, not focusing on the things I know I have to do there.
