Oscar nominee Carey Mulliganformer manager of the England football team Gareth Southgate and the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan are among the names known from King Charles III in its annual New Year’s Honors list.
According to the UK Cabinet Office, more than 1,200 people from all walks of life have been selected to receive an honor for their achievements and service to British society. The 2025 honors list was announced on Tuesday, December 31.

“When you are recognized, it makes you feel a bit ‘critical’, but I think the most exciting thing is when I think about my childhood, about my unhappiness, misery and terrible stupidity, and everything that led to so many failures as a kids,” Fry said. “And for my parents, really, what a disaster. I mean, every time the phone rang, they were like, ‘Oh, my God, what has Stephen done now?’ It was kind of a family joke.”
