Lumen, one of at least nine US telecommunications firms said to have been compromised by the Salt Typhoon hackers, says the Chinese hacking group is no longer on its network.

Lumen spokesman Mark Molzen told TechCrunch that an independent forensic analysis confirmed that the company removed the Chinese actors from its network, adding that there is “no evidence that customer data was accessed” during the Salt Typhoon breach .

Lumen’s confirmation comes after US telecommunications giants AT&T and Verizon confirmed to TechCrunch that they had also secured their networks following their breaches. T-Mobile, another target of Salt Typhoon, said last month that there was no evidence of hacking yet on its systems.

AT&T and Verizon both said a small number of high-profile customers had access to their communications. US officials said last week that “fewer than 100” people were targeted in total, adding that most were high-ranking US officials and politicians based in Washington DC.
