Over the years, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has chosen a celebrity’s child to carry the awards season torch and help with the annual Golden Globe Awards.
The coveted title of Miss and Mr. Golden Globes dates back to 1963 when Donna Douglas and Eva Six shared the honor. The tradition of the role going to a child celebrity, however, did not begin until 1971 with Anne Archerwho went on to become a successful actress in her own right.
Being Miss or Mr. Golden Globes—or Golden Globes Ambassador as it was changed in 2018—includes several responsibilities during the show. Throughout the event, the ambassador assists the presenters in awarding prizes and escorting the winners off the stage.
While many stars have held this role over the years, the ambassador program was discontinued in 2021.
