ASML said his car’s car’s orders were not valued with market estimates with nearly 1bn €, as christop chief Fouquet warned that Donald Trump’s tariff announcements had “increased insecurity”.
ASML shares, which were struck this year for fear of impacting tariffs and a possible slowdown on artificial intelligence expenses, were reduced 6.2 percent in early trade Wednesday, receiving their decline from January to 16 percent.
“He is still the market leader. The demand is strong,” Fouquet said, adding that the Netherlands -based company was looking at the impact of “very carefully” tariffs.
ASML net reservations for the quarter ending in March, a closely viewed metric that includes customers’ equipment orders, but has not yet been submitted, was 3.9bn €, compared to the estimates of analysts of 4.8bn €.
This result was an overthrow of the previous trimester, when its booking figure came much higher than expected, as ASML customers tried to take forward US -projected checks on its equipment.
The high cost of the unique ASML-it lithography cars sold 73 per quarter-means that the orders are difficult to foresee on the short term. Chipmakers including Taiwan’s semiconductor manufacturing company, Intel and Samsung rely exclusively on ASML devices to produce the most cut chips for clients like Apple and Nvidia.
General sales for the first quarter came widely in accordance with expectations with € 7.7BN, with 46 percent year per year. The Dutch Technology Group predicts that the income of the second quarter would be 7.2bn € at 7.7bn €, compared to the forecasts of analysts of 7.8bn €, according to apparent Alpha.
ASML did not change its annual income instruction of € 30bn to 35bn €.
“Our conversations so far with clients support our expectation that 2025 and 2026 will be the years of growth,” Fouquet said. “However, recent tariff announcements have increased insecurity in the macro environment and the situation will remain dynamic for a while.”
