Your guide to what the 2024 American elections mean for Washington and the world

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Donald Trump of living in a “misinformation bubble” and opposed his $ 500 billion billion for help for Kyiv after the US president appeared to blame Ukraine for the war with Russia.

Speaking in Kyiv on Wednesday, Zelenskyy, who was avoided this week from high -profile talks between the US and Russia in Riyadh, Trump exploded for the push of “many misinformation coming from Russia”.

“Unfortunately, President Trump, with all the respect for him as the leader of a nation we respect a lot, is living in this misinformation bubble,” he said.

Retort was driven by Trump’s remarks from his Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida on Tuesday, in which the US president allegedly claimed the conflict, the largest in European land since World War II.

Trump added that he was “very disappointed” that Ukraine was “upset not to have a place” in Tuesday’s talks in Saudi Arabia.

“Today I heard,” Oh, well, we were not invited, “the US president said. “Well, you have been there for three years… You should never have started it. You may have made a deal.”

Zelenskyy’s comments came a day after SH.BA and Russia US agreed to “lay the groundwork for future cooperation” to end the war, in their first high -profile talks since Russian President Vladimir Putin’s occupation In full -scale Ukraine in 2022.

Amid a dramatic overthrow of Russia’s decades politics, Trump announced last week that he had spoken to Putin to end the Ukraine war, without consulting Kyiv or its European allies.

On Wednesday, Zelenskyy withdrew against Trump’s suggestion that elections should be held in Ukraine after the US president claimed his Ukrainian counterpart had a 4 percent approval estimate.

Showing a vote from the International Institute of Sociology Kyiv, who in February revealed that 57 percent of Ukrainians trusted their president, Zelenskyy said: “So if anyone wants to replace me now, it will not work.”

Putin has long demanded the regime change in Kyiv.

The Ukrainian president also opposed Trump’s claim that Ukraine owed rare minerals worth $ 500 billion and other sources for past military aid.

Kyiv has spent $ 320 billion in its war against Russia’s efforts, with $ 200 billion coming from international military aid, Zelenskyy said.

“The United States has contributed approximately $ 60 billion so far, with an additional $ 31.5 billion in financial aid,” he said. “That’s $ 67 billion in weapons and $ 31.5 billion in direct budget support.”

State Department data extensively supports Zelenskyy’s figure on US military support for Ukraine.
