Aubrey Plaza and Husband Jeff Baena Relationship Term

Aubrey Plaza AND Jeff Brothers were together for more than a decade before his death in 2025.

The pair started dating in 2011, but never confirmed exactly when they met or when their love story began.

2011

Plaza and Baena have been dating since 2011, but it’s not known when the pair actually started dating.

2014

Baena made his directorial debut in 2014 Life after Bethplaying Plaza as the title character.

2017

Plaza made her debut as a film producer alongside Baena Small hoursin which she played a nun named Sister Fernanda.

2020

Plaza’s dark humor inspired a unique Valentine’s Day Instagram post featuring her husband. The two posed for a photo, but Plaza held a dagger to Baena’s face. “And happy Valentine’s Day,” she captioned the photo, adding a heart emoji.

2021

During Baena’s film celebration Roll Me Round in May, Plaza subtly announced that she and Baena had tied the knot. “Very proud of my beloved husband,” she wrote on Instagram.

Plaza went on to explain how he had to negotiate to get the clerk to agree to drive to her house and perform the ceremony in their backyard. She enlisted her neighbor – whom she described as a real-life witch – to receive her spiritual blessing.

“I created a very quick altar of love in our yard. Facts of our love, small stones, smoke, fire. Things of that nature. Then the man from Alhambra showed up,” Plaza continued. “I don’t remember much of it, it was a blur. But I’m pretty sure it was legit.”

2022

Roll Me Round premiered in the United States in August, starring Plaza alongside the writer Alison Brie.

A few months later, the Plaza opened GQ about her marriage to Baena, comparing her life to that of her character The White LotusHarper.

“I’ve been with my husband for 12 years,” she said in November. “I relate to being in a relationship that has peaks and valleys, and going through a rough patch and comparing myself to another couple that seems perfect.”

January 2025

News broke that Baena had died at the age of 47. The cause of death was not immediately released, and Plaza did not release a statement.
