The rapper, 40, revealed via his Instagram Story on Thursday, January 23 that a “vulnerable fan” broke into his home — and at the same time lashed out at trolls who joked about the incident online.
“Hey, so I want to clear this up because I see the internet is running on stuff and making jokes and this sh- is not funny,” he wrote via post. “The person who broke into my house was a crazy fan who had been stalking me for years without my knowledge. He’s been in shows, events that I’ve done in the United States and abroad.”
In the lengthy caption, Kid Cudi went on to detail the extreme and terrifying lengths to which the stalker has gone to get close to the rapper.
“He drove across the country and came to my house hoping to talk to me about the collaboration and the ideas he had,” he continued. “There is nothing funny about this. My privacy has been violated and now I have to protect myself. I don’t feel safe right now. He went through personal things, my fiancee’s things, showered and ate while thinking he was actually going to have a conversation with me. It is about a 34-year-old independent man. Not homeless.”
Kid Cudi explained that he would increase his security in light of the incident and has now put it on edge when it comes to any interaction with fans moving forward.

“I’m going to take some serious security measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” the caption continued. “I’m not online to see the comments, but word got back to me, people are trashing this and it’s not okay. If I’m weird when you see me now in public, that’s why.”
TMZ reported on Jan. 16 that law enforcement arrested an intruder at the music star’s Los Angeles home after he was spotted on security cameras in the kitchen. for TMZ, Kid Cudi was not home at the time.
Earlier this month, Kid Cudi was also among the thousands of residents forced to evacuate as wildfires ravaged parts of Los Angeles.
“Hey guys, I had to evacuate my bed,” he wrote in an Instagram Story at the time. “I am safe, with my loved ones, dogs are safe. To all the people who lost their homes, the people who are dealing with this, my heart goes out to you and I am praying for us all and sending you ALL my love to you and yours. if you must evacuate, get out immediately. Don’t hesitate. Be safe LA. I love you guys.”
