Big Freedia has announced the death of her partner of 20 years, Devon hurstin a heartbroken post on social media. He was 38 years old.
The rapper (real name Freddie Ross Jr.) took on Instagram on Thursday, May 15 to share the news and to grieve the loss of her long partner, who died of diabetes complications.
“I have been destroyed that I have to announce that today my 20 -year -old partner Devon Hurst passed away peacefully due to complications from diabetes, surrounded by his beloved family,” wrote Freedia, 47.
The post continued: “He survives his mother Chareen Hursthis sisters Meshonda, Stephan and Jaylahis brothers, Steven, Stephon and Malcolmhis daughter Uterushis son Small and his nieces and grandchildren and his partner Freddie Ross Jr.“
Alongside a couple’s photo, Freedia continued to say how much Hurst would miss those she left behind.
