In front of her American idol Audition, said an executive manufacturer Carrie underwood THAT Simon Cowell Hated the country’s music – but she already knew.
Then 21 years old, underwood went forward with her interpretation of Bonnie Raitt“I can’t make you love me” while trying for the singing competition in 2005, and her heart sank as soon as Cowell interrupted her.
Underwood, now 41 years old, re -buried its audition in a video produced by American idolPosted Wednesday, March 5, while preparing for her role as a judge for season 23.
The video shows underwood, then with curly hair, working on her farm in Checotah, Oklahoma, before entering the car to make the trip for hours to St. Louis with her mother in audition for the show. Singer “Jesus Tak The Wheel” could not help, but have fun with her nerves and appearance while she stood in front of the original judges of the show, Cowell, Paula Abdul AND Randy Jackson.
“I won’t move my hands for nothing,” she said. “I think I was just trying to keep in all my emotions. Literally. How, keep them in my body.”

Before the Underwood finished the choir, Cowell, now 65, cut it.
“I was like,” Ah, I did a bad job. He stopped me from singing, ‘“She remembered.
But that’s not what happened. On the contrary, frequent acerbic (or even offensive) cowell told what she did a great job, noting how he thinks the season finally found a good country singer. Most importantly, he told Underwood to continue to do what he was doing – though he himself is not a fan of the country’s music.
“This influenced my song choice in my audition,” Underwood said about Cowell’s concern for the country. “I thought maybe if I was singing” I couldn’t make you love me, “it would still be a song I knew and loved very much.”
