Franco, 39, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter At the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday, January 25, where he was asked if someone had told him about the comparisons people made between the actor and the similarities of the mangion. Before Franco responded, his partner Alison Brie He said: “Akush? Do you mean everyone? ”
Franco told the newspaper, “I’ve never received more messages in my life for anything. Anyone who has my phone number has contacted it. ”
Most of the comparisons were made on social media, with people who even suggest that Franco had to play mangion in a movie. “I don’t think there was any official offers,” replied Brie, 42, jokingly. Franco added: “No, no official offer.”
Mangione, 26, is the man suspected of shooting and killing the UNITEHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City on December 4, 2024. After a five-day search, Mangion was arrested in Pennsylvania and charged with murder on December 9th. He was found a ghost weapon similar to what was believed to have been used in Thompson’s assassination, as well as a handwritten manifesto criticizing the health care industry. Mangion has undergone surgery on the back in recent years.

“This story began tragic, but then very quickly (it became) strange, because when the authorities first released the suspect’s security photos, the internet reaction was fast and wild,” Colbert said. “You know the boy is Italian because you can grind parmesan in those belly.”
While a film adaptation of the event has not been announced, a documentary is already at work by the director Stephen Robert Morsewhich will examine Thompson’s fatal shooting and its consequences.
“This case is complex and raises important questions about vigilanism, the devastating cost of a privatized health care system and the inevitability of violence when peaceful change is seen as impossible,” Morsse said. The deadline in December. “My goal is to present a balanced exploration of the assassination of CEO of United Healthcare, Brian Thompson, telling all sides of history while respecting the deep loss of life and its influence on all involved.”
