President Donald Trump announced that he and the first lady Melania Trump are “looking forward” to participate Pope Francis‘Funeral.
“Melania and I will go to Pope Francis’ funeral in Rome,” the president wrote, 78, through social truth on Monday, April 21. “We look forward to being there!”
Hours before confirming his participation in memorial services, Donald devoted respect to the late Pope.
“Rest in peace Pope Francis! God bless him and all who loved him!” He wrote through social truth.
Pope Francis, who has been the leader of the Catholic Church since 2013, died Monday at the age of 88.
“Pope Francis died on Monday Easter, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 at his residence in Casa Santa Marta, Vatican,” Vatican announced on Monday.
Cardinal Kevin Farrell also issued a statement on the death of the religious figure.

The Pope’s death came hours after appearing on the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica on Sunday, April 20, to congratulate the crowd to gather a cheerful Easter at the Italian historical point.
