Gigi Hadid is honoring Donatella Versace After the fashion visionary withdrew as the leading creative official of the designer brand.
“Work with Versace in the Donatella era will forever be one of the highlights of my career,” wrote Hadid, 29, via Instagram on Sunday, March 16, along with some photos from her time as a Versace model. “What is most honor of a life is to say I know and love this super woman.”
“There is warmth, strength, tenderness, humor, generosity, encouragement, loyalty and magic to @donatella_versace that I feel so lucky to have experienced from this boss and icon,” Hadid continued. “To say its support for me, 10 years ago, changed my career course would be an underestimation.”
Hadid added that Donatella “was the first person to put me on a large, high-fashioned track- then put me on the campaign that season,” saying, “seeing behind every reminder from more accessories, filming, shows, campaigns and dinners in Donatella than I can include^..
She went on, “I became a woman working for this woman. Some of the moments I felt the most powerful, confident and beautiful are because of her. I will never forget it.”

It was announced by the owner of Versace in the SH.BA Capri Holdings on Thursday, March 13, that Donatella would withdraw as the main creative official for the role of the brand’s main ambassador.
