Disney/Francisco RomanGoosebumpswhich premiered in 2023, draws inspiration from RL Stinehis popular horror novels. Season 2 introduces a new cast and story centered around twins Cece (Bartels) and Devin (McCarthy) who are sent to spend a summer in Brooklyn with their divorced father (Schwimmer). They quickly realize that dark secrets lie between them, with Schwimmer’s character specifically inspired by the book Stay out of the Basement about a father testing plants until things take a turn.
“Working with David as our father was an honor and a privilege. It was just so much fun getting to know each other and bonding. “You can’t play a family without getting to know each other,” Bartels, 20, said us. “There was a lot of David on the side pulling us aside to run lines or collaborate or discuss, like, ‘What do we think happened before that?’ What do we think we’ve been through as a family?’”
Bartels was grateful for the “learning” experience of “getting closer to each other,” adding, “David definitely helped us a lot throughout this process.” McCarthy, 22, also raved about Schwimmer as a love interest and on-screen father figure.

Disney/Francisco Roman“David is a great guy and he’s a generous leader and a generous working father. You certainly can’t help but learn a lot from someone who’s far more experienced than you that you’re working in close proximity to,” McCarthy said. “I remember about a third of the way into filming this, you shoot a scene and then you sit down for a few minutes and then you come back and do it again. And you have to have that endurance muscle to be willing to go non-stop for maybe 12 or 13 or 14 hours.”
He continued: “There was a challenge in that for sure. I told David how I was struggling a bit with this. And he talked to me about how that’s part of the craft and that’s a big part of the job. It’s that resilience and that discipline to reapply yourself and give back.”
While many of Goosebumps The stars knew Schwimmer from his iconic run as Ross on FriendsNoel started fresh with the seasoned actor.
“I had no idea who David was. To be honest, I’ve never heard of David Schwimmer in my life,” revealed Noel, 26, who portrays Alex. us. “He’s very enthusiastic (though) and whatever he’s thrown at, he seems very committed. He’s just such an actor’s actor and he’s a theater kid, so he really cares about his craft. You can feel it when you walk into the room.”
Ortiz, 53, for her part, was thrilled to see Schwimmer get into the material.
“He really wants to talk about the scene and where we’re going. It just brings such an amazing real dynamic that you forget it’s this scary monster show,” said the actress, who plays Jen. “And you really are in the moment. It’s spectacular and it’s really fun to work with (someone like him).”
