Real Housewives of New Jersey STAR Jennifer Aydin is clarifying her recent social media connection to Jersey Mike’s.
“Hindsight is 20/20, but I didn’t think it would go this way,” Aydin, 47, said exclusively. Us Weekly on Wednesday, January 8. “Not at all.”
Earlier this month, Aydin claimed in a social media video that she waited “for what felt like forever” to get service from an airport Jersey Mike’s. One of the employees then shared her response in a TikTok video, referring to Aydin as a “stupid butt” and claiming the reality TV star supported the entire customer line.
During the conversation with usAydin claimed she was “not rude” to any of the chain’s staff.
Jennifer and her husband, Bill Aydinhad traveled with their five children on holiday.
“We are a big group. I am a family of seven,” recalls Jennifer. “I have a sister with my godmother. She is a widow (and) she and my godfather come with us wherever we go. So we travel (with) nine people or many people. We met my cousin, who is another family of six. … There are 15 of us, not to mention the other two families who were meeting us at the airport.”

“He took all the children, went to another stand that had a table, ordered food. It was 5:30 in the morning,” she said. “Jersey Mike’s didn’t open until 5:30 and my cousin and I got in line at almost 5:45am and there weren’t that many people in line. Again, traffic was a little slow, but we wouldn’t complain .”
Jennifer and her cousin, Susiegot on the line at the same time, but Susie eventually got out to check out a neighboring kiosk.
“She didn’t get back in line with me because she was already starting to pile up. So she decided to wait for me at the front of the register until it was my turn,” Jennifer said To us. “When it was my turn, obviously, I let him go in front of me and I think people thought I was letting him wait. I didn’t let him wait and he ordered four sandwiches. I only ordered one. I only had one that my kids wanted to share. That was my duty. I’m in mom mode trying to just feed my kids.”
After Susie ordered, Jennifer and the woman behind her also placed their respective orders. The other woman was allegedly helped before Jennifer, despite the Bravo personality saying she got to the line first.
“We have already waited. We are at an airport, we have a flight to catch. We’ve already passed TSA, I’m a big group, everything took (time), so, obviously, tensions are high,” she stressed. “Again, I don’t want to complain. i understand Everyone says, “It’s New Years, whatever.” My wife’s sandwich (order) was filled first and I reminded the employee. I’m like, ‘Hey, did you do my Italian?’ And she said, ‘You have to wait your turn.’ I said, “Oh, but you did hers before mine and I was before hers.” So obviously she realized that (and) ignored me. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it.”
While the employees were working on Jennifer’s sandwich, Bill arrived to add to the order.

Jocelyn Prescod/Bravo“They’re working on a sandwich I ordered. It’s a tall Italian, and Bill said one of our kids wanted a plain mini ton with nothing in it,” Jennifer said. “So I said to the clerk, ‘OK, honey, I’m going to need another mini ton.’ She says, ‘Oh no, you have to go to the end of the line.’ And I said but you just filled that woman’s sandwich in front of me and I didn’t even say anything and none of this is on camera – by the way. So she looked up and I think she realized I was right and she goes, ‘Well, then the guy behind you has to say it’s okay.'”
Jennifer hadn’t noticed the man who was now waiting behind her, who apparently said, “I mean, it’s kind of funny … that (she was) adding another sandwich.”
“Tensions are high. I know that I will be blamed for something and I will keep my cool,” said Jennifer. “The whole point of my recording – I know it backfired – was to show that I wasn’t shooting. I’m just recording the window. At that point, the guy’s not even my thing.”
The man then claimed to be a law professor and allegedly threatened to sue Jennifer for “all her fake diamonds” if she posted his video.
“I am literally so shocked and disgusted by this man’s behavior,” Jennifer said, noting that she is “haunted by bad behavior.”
She continued, “I understand that I didn’t handle this properly, but, at this point, I was very shocked and horrified by this really unwarranted, aggressive behavior. Then I put the camera on him.”
She added, “In my anger, I was telling him because I wanted him to know that you just can’t be rude to people like that. You don’t know who you’re being rude to and I’m going to blow you up. … I was just upset that this person (was) talking to me that way. I want you to know that at this point, I was not at all rude to the Jersey Mike’s staff. I was trying to be polite.”

“In the video, they were still working on my sandwich. It’s not like I paid. I didn’t check it,” she said. “So for them to tell me to wait to the end of the line or that I had to ask this guy’s permission – that just started a fight. They shouldn’t have done that and this is just customer service. Now I’m realizing that I can’t say, “I’m a celebrity.” People are very angry. … I’m not going to say I’m a celebrity anymore because people are so angry about it. But, obviously, it wouldn’t have gone as viral as it would have if I wasn’t a public figure.”
Jennifer also apologized for her harsh comments about the staff, stressing that she was “not a celebrity at the time” but just an “angry mom”.
“I wanted to blow it up to show how rude they were to me. I didn’t do it the right way. I admit that, but I wasn’t rude to the staff at this point,” Jennifer reiterated, noting that she only announced her celebrity status after another diner recognized her and pointed it out loud. “I feel like we’ve all been there. Now I’m learning that I’m a public figure and that everything I say or do is going to be scrutinized and I actually have to lead by example.”
She continued, “It was wrong of me to go into my stories and then take issue with their poor customer service. Now I’m learning that I’m not allowed to complain. There is no right. This is not a privilege. I am a paying customer.”
Jennifer also “one hundred percent” regrets posting the noise video in the first place.
“I realized I should have done it a different way and it might have gone down a little differently,” she said. “And now I’m learning not to do things in the heat of the moment because I didn’t get angry as a celebrity. … I was a paying customer not getting the sandwich for her kid.”

Ralph Bavaro/BravoIn addition, Jennifer “felt (she) owed an apology” to Jersey Mike’s and the allegedly “rude and dismissive” man in line behind her, but doesn’t plan to make it.
“I’m not going to,” she said, “they’re constantly attacking me. … I’m going to apologize for calling (the worker) an 80-year-old woman and doing all this, but that’s where it ends. They’re making money from that, which I’m very happy about. Finally some good will come of it.”
