Lala Kent I’m throwing shade Katie Maloney AND Ariana Madixthe reaction of Vanderpomp Rules cast review ahead of season 12.
During the Tuesday, Dec. 31, episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Lala, 34, was asked by the host. Amanda Hirsch about Katie and Ariana “pretending everyone is fine” with the shakeup.
“I don’t want to say I’m fine with it because I’m not.” It was like the most beautiful time of my entire life,” Lala said of her complicated reaction to the news. “But at some point, you have to look at the bigger picture and say, ‘Are we able to film it longer?'”
Lala was specifically asked about Katie, 37, claiming she wasn’t planning on returning, and Ariana, 38, appearing “happy” about the news.

Nicole Weingart/Bravo“I just don’t think we were able to film it anymore. So whoever’s being okay with it, I feel like it’s a slap in the face,” added Lala, who has been at odds with Katie and Ariana since season 11. “There are moments when I look around and say, ‘Do we understand that we have all these opportunities that are fabulous because of Vanderpomp Rules?”

Todd Williamson/BravoVanderpomp Rules started on Bravo in 2013 as a spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Lala joined in season 4 and stayed on the show until the November 2024 announcement that season 12 would feature an all-new cast.
“Without this show, nobody gives a damn about any of us, and I just tried to always remember that. I always tried to remember what brought me to this place,” Lala said Wednesday. “Because before Vanderpomp RulesI was just a whore trying to beat the streets, a squirrel trying to get a nut. This show changed my whole life.”
Lala’s comments come after Katie revealed she said Vanderpomp Rules producers she would not return before news of the casting change.
“I didn’t plan to come back. I had made a decision months ago after this past season. I had to move on with my life,” she said on her Disrespectfully podcast last month. “I talked to our producers about it and told them my decision about it. I personally felt ready to move on from the show . I felt that my life and where I was was moving in a different direction. Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, I was ready to move on from the show.”
Katie remembered that she was ready for something new. “It had been a long time. I’ve lived a lot of life and I’ve been through a lot on that show,” she continued. “It just got to a point where I don’t know that I can live and grow and be the version of myself that I want to be on this show anymore.”
Meanwhile, Ariana spoke to see the good side of the situation.
“I was just relieved that the public was finally informed about the conversations we had,” she said exclusively. Us Weekly in December. “So it’s good that that news is out there and yeah, now I don’t have to sit here carrying it.”
