Jax Taylor AND Brittany Cartwright They are prioritizing their son, Cruz, as they go to their separate streets.
“I don’t know what the future holds, but for now my concentration is to be the best mother for Cruz. I love you guys, and begs for us. Everything will be fine,” Cartwright said during a February 2024 and Taylor episode “when reality hits” podcast when announcing that the twins were “taking time away”.
Cartwright continued to officially submit Divorc by Taylor after five years of marriage in August. She sought Cruz’s primary legal and physical custody, which the former couple welcomed in 2021. Taylor submitted his documents a month later, demanding that Cartwright’s request for full custody be granted.
Despite not fighting for Cruz’s full custody, Taylor has stated his intention for friendship of Union with Cartwright. Keep moving to see everything Exes have said about raising Cruz together:
No longer negativity
Cartwright told E! The news in March 2024 she decided to live separately from Taylor for the sake of their son.
“The truth is that we have just fought and not on the same page for a while now, and it was simply becoming a negative space in our home,” she explained. “I just don’t love him for our son. I don’t want him to grow up thinking it’s normal to live like that.”
Taylor added that he and Cartwright “both agree” that Cruz’s welfare is more important than anything else.
“I have to do what is best for my son,” he said. “It is to know that he has two loved ones who love him to death and he will have the best life possible, whether we are together or not.”
Still a team

Cartwright explained why she and Taylor were still podcasting together and preparing for season 2 of their Bravo series Valley.
“We have to make money for our future, for our son, for his future. This is what really matters,” she said People In April 2024. “We will be in each other’s life no matter what, whether we come back together or not, so I would prefer that we are able to be around each other than to hate one another absolutely. Let us not go so far.”
Cartwright added that her new dynamics and Taylor was “best” for Cruz because they were not “fighting in front of him”.
“This is what is the most important now,” she said. “Because that is why I had to get it out of that situation in the first place.”
Focused on positive
Although Cartwright accepted during an appearance in April 2024 Look what happens directly with Andy Cohen That she “noticed everything wrong” with her marriage after she and Taylor “had a terrible war”, she still managed to focus on the positive qualities of her ex.
“Jax is a great father. I will give him,” she said. “(Cruz) is our main advantage, no matter what.”
Strong for her son

Cartwright opened for how she won the “courage” to show for divorce during a August episode of “when reality hits”.
“My decision to present did not make it easy or quickly. It has taken me a lot, many years to get to this point where I have gained enough courage and strength to do what is best for me, get away from a toxic relationship and ultimately see my value,” she said. “It’s been very difficult, but I’m stronger than ever. … My motivation is my son, my Cruzie, who deserves a happy and healthy mother. Walking ahead, Jax and I will do podcast separately.”
Right for the family
Taylor acknowledged that Cartwright appearance for divorce was “the right decision for their family” during a September 2024 episode of “when reality hits”
“I will always love you and take care of Brittany. She is the mother of my beautiful son. All I want for us is to be friendly and even, we hope, really, really good friends. One day,” he said. “I know I’m an amazing dad and I know I’m going to make a ex-husband brilliant.”
Working on it

Cartwright noted that understanding her duplicate dynamics with Taylor will “take some time” during a September 2024 interview with People.
“Things are very raw among us, but for the most part, I know if I needed something, if Cruz needed something, I could call it and he would be there for us,” she said.
Kentucky’s birth also called Taylor a “terrible man”, but a “big father”, which she will always include in Cruz’s life.
“I will not remove Cruz away from him,” she said. “We will always put the first Cruz and we will work towards a healthy union relationship.”
Accepting reality
Cartwright gave a genuine update for the Copyate while talking about E! News in October 2024.
“We’re okay, we’re gathering. That’s the most important thing. In addition, it’s what it is,” she said. “Of course, we will both decide first (cruz). It will be fine no matter what, because we both love it so much. Even if Jax and I are fighting, it will never come between Cruz. It will never be one thing.”
On the same page

Instead of dealing with a controversial custody battle, Taylor proved that he and Cartwright are on the same page demanding that her request for primary custody be given.
“Jax and Brittany have already resolved all the issues related to Cruz’s custody, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, who remains their main concern,” Taylor’s representative said The weekly in a statement in October 2024.
A new normal
Taylor detailed his relationship with Cruz during a March 2025 appearance at Podcast “Hot Mic”.
“I take care of my son as much as (Brittany) lets me. I don’t know what else he wants from me,” she said after discovering his stovet after a past cocaine addiction. “I’m doing everything she has just asked because I respect her, and I want to make her happy. I’m going up and further to tell her I care, and I want to be in my son’s life.”
Copages after Cruz’s diagnosis
Cartwright shared during an interview in April 2025 with People That she and Taylor Cruz’s son were diagnosed with autism previous autumn. Cartwright told the publication that she wants to make sure Cruz is in “good hands” with Taylor going forward.
“I’m going to lower my leg down, and I will make sure he is doing what he has to do: drug testing, everything,” she continued. “As much as I and Jax are not accompanied by, I want Cruz to grow up with his father in his life. So if he can stay stable, I think it’s very important in coparenting.”
Despite their ups and downs, Cartwright wants Taylor to be in Cruz’s life.
“It is really difficult when you can’t trust someone. It will take me a lot of time to regain confidence in him, and that makes it very difficult,” she said. “I can just hope and please one day he will completely knock this because I’m not sure yet.”
