The trailer for the new show was released last week and shows Meghan, 43, rustling up a delicious dish for Kaling in it and Prince Harry‘s Montecito, California, kitchen.
“I was just on my maternity leave and Meghan texted me and was like, ‘Hey, do you want to come on my show…come to Montecito and make me cook for you?'” Kaling explained of her guest appearance. during a red carpet interview with Deadline at the Sunday, January 5, Golden Globes. “And I said, ‘Yeah, that sounds perfect. I’d love to do that.'”
The comedian said she considers herself an “OK cook” but Meghan “surprisingly blew me out of the water”.

Courtesy of Netflix“The thing about her recipes and being out there is that it’s really accessible,” Kaling continued. “She has a garden from scratch, which I could never do, and the chickens … would probably all die if I tried to take care of the chickens. I was like, ‘Oh, that’s very accessible.'”
While Meghan’s husband Harry, 40, was at home when Kaling visited, she didn’t get to try his cooking.
“I hear he’s actually quite a good cook,” she said. “He knows his way around a kitchen.”
Meghan’s new lifestyle series, set to premiere on Wednesday, January 15, “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming” with Meghan at the helm “combining practicalities and candid chat with friends” , according to Netflix.
“I’ve always loved taking something quite ordinary and elevating it,” Meghan says in a trailer released Thursday, Jan. 2. “To surprise people with moments that let them know I was thinking of them.”
Produced by Meghan herself, the former actress will offer “tips and tricks” on life in the upcoming eight-episode series, which will feature guest appearances from Kaling’s ex, Harry and Meghan. Costumes brother and friend Abigail Spencer.
“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing the play on perfection and highlighting how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected,” reads the official introduction to the show. “She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, garden and beyond and invite you to do the same.”
With love, Meghan is the second series to be released under Meghan and Harry’s overall deal with Netflix. (I Harry Polo fell last month.)
Ahead of the show’s official announcement, a source said Us Weekly in August 2024, the series was set to “be an interpretation of (Meghan) and the joy of living”. The insider noted that she’ll be teaching viewers “little things she’s learned about being a modern-day host.”
