Paige DeSorbo is consoling her fans after the separation from Craig Conover.
After DeSorbo, 32, announced that she and Conover, 35, had called it quits, heartbroken fans took to social media to express their grief. On a TikTok, a user recorded her sister processing the breakup.
“My sister is going through all 5 stages of grief over Craig and Paige’s breakup,” the user wrote on the video, captioning the post, “It’s been a rough morning at our house.” DeSorbo took to the comments section to reply: “I had to laugh and that was perfect thank you.”
In another video, a user recorded her boyfriend discussing DeSorbo and Conover’s breakup. “My boyfriend was drunk raving about Paige and Craig breaking up,” the user wrote on TikTok, to which DeSorbo replied, “We want a gossip king.”
Meanwhile, other users have shared their theories as to why the Bravo couple went their separate ways. After one TikToker suggested that DeSorbo “destroyed” Conover’s hypothetical proposal, Summer house star responded in the comments section, “I’m obsessed with all this fan fiction.”
DeSorbo also clapped back at a TikToker who suggested she should have chosen to “start chilling” with Southern charm star, replying, “May friends like this never find me.”
The division also stood out Jon Hammwho reacted to the split during CNN Live on New Year’s Eve. “I have to pour one for Craig and Paige,” Hamm told the hosts Andy Cohen AND Anderson Cooper. “My God. End of an era. Geez. Who would have thought it?” After a user uploaded the moment to TikTok, DeSorbo wrote: “I was too astonished to speak.”
DeSorbo announced that she and Conover had split during her Monday, Dec. 30 episode, and Hannah Bernerthe Giggly Squad podcast.
“Craig and I have decided not to be together anymore,” she said. “I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. Nobody did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing. I think we were both really mature and saying what we wanted and didn’t want, and I think that’s incredibly powerful to be able to express how you feel in real time and what you want for your future.”
DeSorbo noted that she has changed “a lot” in recent years, but still has “so much love and respect” for Conover. “I think he’s one of the best people I’ve met in my entire life. I will remain his biggest fan and wish him the best, and he will indeed get the best, because he is the best,” she said. “But with that said, I think it’s the right decision for both of us.”
After the split, a source exclusively said Us Weekly that Conover planned to take the next step with DeSorbo. “Craig was ready for the next steps and had plans to propose to Paige. He was really pushing for next steps and wanted to settle down with her,” the insider said.
The source added that living in different cities — DeSorbo resides in New York City while Conover lives in Charleston, South Carolina — made things difficult for them.
“Paige doesn’t want to move to Charleston and logistically it would never work for long,” the insider noted. “A lot of their friends aren’t shocked at all, but they’re all sad for them.”
