The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Dorit Kemsley is giving an updated status about her marriage with PK Kemsley.
“We’re standing exactly where we were at the beginning,” Dorit, 48, said Tuesday, Jan. 7. RHOBH After the show when asked where she and PK stand after announcing their separation in May 2024.
Dorit continued, “There’s movement, but it’s just not forward – it’s left to right. I’d like to move forward and I’m constantly trying to protect it.”
“Ask me for another six months. I hope I will have a better answer,” she added, stressing that she and PK, 57, have “work to do” to resolve issues between them.
During Tuesday’s episode of RHOBArecalled Dorit to Costari Bozoma Saint John a marriage counseling session with KP in which he allegedly shouted, “This is why I want a divorce and I don’t want to marry this woman.”
IN After the ShowDorit described the alleged comments as a “dagger to the heart”.
“It wasn’t like a sane thought, ‘Listen Dorit, I’ve reached a point in our marriage where I want a divorce.’ You don’t know if it’s reactionary. It’s like, ‘Wait a minute, that’s the first time you’ve said that.’ These are serious words,” she said. “I have a right to know your feelings. I don’t understand.”
As for whether the couple will reunite or proceed with a divorce, Dorit is unsure.
“Am I preparing for a divorce? Isn’t it me? It is such a mind,” she explained to Bozoma. “When we’re apart (and) we’re calm, (he says), ‘Oh, please, I say things!’ It’s so hard.”
Dorit also told Bozoma that uncertainty over whether or not she and PK will divorce is part of the reason she hasn’t told their children — son Jagger, 10, and daughter Phoenix, 8 — about their split.
“He and I have to figure it out so I can prepare them. That’s one of the biggest reasons why I didn’t want to tell them right away,” she said. “It’s a ping-pong game. I don’t want my kids to have to deal with that.”
Dorit and PK announced their separation last May after nearly a decade of marriage. “As a couple, we have been the subject of many speculations about our marriage. We’ve had our struggles over the past few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two wonderful children together,” the pair wrote in a statement shared on Instagram. “To maintain our friendship deep and in order to maintain a harmonious environment for our children, we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while prioritizing our children. We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do necessary work throughout this journey. With love, Dorit and PK.”
The consequences of the couple’s separation were long played out RHOBA Season 14 premieres in November 2024.
Speaking of Us Weekly exclusively ahead of the premiere, Dorit said that she and PK haven’t discussed an actual divorce yet.
“We’re navigating this period,” she explained. “I just really hope that no matter where we go – I think if we end up together – there’s a lot of work to be done. You don’t get to this place and want to jump back in the saddle without doing the work that you know is necessary to enjoy the marriage and have the communication that you really need.”
