2025 is a big year for TV – but which shows do we know for sure will be back for more seasons?
Apple TV+ surprised viewers by renewing Bad monkey after it ended it left the future of the show unclear. Based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiasen, Bad monkey follows former police detective Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn) who descends on a restaurant inspector before being absorbed into a murder investigation when a severed arm is pulled from the water.
WHEREAS Bad monkey seemingly finished every story line, there was still hope. Natalie Martinezwho plays Rosa, aka Yancy’s love interest, exclusively said Us Weekly in October 2024 that “the possibilities are endless” before addressing the lead couple’s shocking split on screen.
“There is a lot of love between Roza and Yancy. He’s helped her in so many ways and there’s definitely this great camaraderie there,” she said. “They’re very fond of each other and in that moment he says, ‘It’s not a goodbye, see you later.’ So I think the possibilities are kind of endless there — where they’re part of the main moment of each other.”
Rivals on Hulu is another show that will have more time to explore the story. Season 1 featured a feud between two men fighting for control of a TV station in 1980s Britain, but ultimately it was the age-gap romance between Rupert (Alex Hassell) and Taggie (Bella MacLean) – and Declan’s (Aidan Turner) presence – that won fans.
“I’m really intrigued. There are so many obstacles in our way and Rupert is really morally conflicted. I wonder what’s going to happen now with Taggie,” MacLean exclusively said us in December 2024 for the future of Rupert and Taggie. “It’s going to be a lot bumpier, but what that means for Taggie is a really cool thing. There are lots of ideas being shared. We need to get season 2 out soon.”
