Jessica Alba is not only a successful actress, but also a businesswoman thanks to her brand, The Honest Company – but also her estranged husband, Cash Warrenit also has to do with the brand.
Alba, 43, founded the personal care brand in 2011, which began with a focus on baby products. The honest company launched the following year with 17 products that were initially sold on its website and at various Whole Foods and Costco locations. It later expanded into home care products.
In 2014, the brand was added to the shelves of Target, Buy Buy Baby and Nordstrom. As the honest company expanded, so did its profits. At that time it was valued at 1 billion dollars.
Two years later, Forbes it is estimated that Alba’s net worth was around $340 million due to the success of The Honest Company. However, Forbes retracted their report in 2021.
“Even at the high end of the price range, Alba’s 6% stake (including options) would be worth just under $100 million,” the publication said at the time. “That’s far less than the $340 million Forbes estimated she was worth when we estimated her stake at 20% and put her on our 2016 list of America’s Most Successful Self-Made Women.”
In the same year, The Honest Company officially filed for an initial public offering on the stock market. The business was valued at around $1.4 billion at the time. According to a 2021 SEC filing, Alba’s salary for the coming year was set at $700,000.

Monica Schipper/Getty ImagesAfter being behind the brand for more than a decade, Alba announced in April 2024 that she would be stepping down as Creative Director. She remains on the board of directors of The Honest Company.
“Building Honesty has been a true labor of love,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “From the first concept book I showed my friends in Mommy and Me class, to ringing the bell at the Nasdaq with my family by my side—this trip has been the trip of a lifetime, a trip that only existed in dreams my craziest…”
At the time of her departure, The Honest Company was valued at $363 million. According to a December 2024 SEC filing, Alba and Warren, 45, both have voting and investment power as trustees over shares held by the Warren Trust.
Honest Company is currently valued at around $609 million, significantly less than the $1.7 billion valuation it had when it went public.
News broke earlier this week that Alba and Warren called it quits after 16 years of marriage. TMZ reported on Wednesday, January 8, that the pair are preparing to file for divorce. Us Weekly I reached out to representatives for Alba and Warren for comment at the time.
