The British police accused the Russell comedian brand for rape and several reasons for attack that were associated with a number of allegations between 1999 and 2005, shared on Friday in a police statement.
Brand, 50, the former husband of US pop singer Katy Perry and once one of the best-known comedians and radio operators of the UK, has been repositioned as an Internet social commentator in recent years.
The police said Brand, who lives in Oxfordshire, southern England, was charged with a number of rapes, a number of indecent bodily harm, a counting of oral rape and two charges of sexual attacks, and the charges refer to four separate women.
The alleged crimes took place in the center of London and in the English coastal town of Bournemouth.
“The investigation (police) remains open and detective requests everyone who is affected by this case, or anyone who has information to report and speak to the police,” says the explanation.
In September 2023, the British media channel Channel 4 and the Sunday Times published demands by four women who were sexually attacked or raped by Brand. The prosecutors were not identified.
The comedian, author and podcaster denied the allegations and said that his relationships were “always mutually mutually agreed”.

In a video that was published on X on Friday, Brand said: “I have never dealt with any mutual activities. I pray that you can see this by looking into my eyes.”
He added: “I will now have the opportunity to defend this indictment in court, and I am incredibly grateful for that.”
Brand is scheduled to appear in a London court on May 2.

Jaswant Narwal from the British public prosecutor’s service said that the prosecutors had checked the evidence “carefully after a police investigation into allegations after the broadcast of Channel 4 was broadcast in September 2023.
“We have come to the conclusion that Russell should be charged with crimes such as rape, sexual assault and indecent attacks,” said Narwal.
“The public prosecutor’s service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the accused has the right to a fair procedure.”
In January, the BBC apologized to employees who did not feel complain about the behavior of the fire due to its celebrity status. Brand had two weekly radio programs on the BBC from 2006 to 2008 and regularly worked on a number of short -term projects.
