On Tuesday, China carried out military exercises ahead of Taiwan’s north, south and east coast as a “strict warning” against separatism and called the Taiwanese President Lai Ching-Te as “parasite” when Taiwan sent warships to react to the Chinese navy that approached their shores.
The exercises that China did not officially named last year, in contrast to war games, occur after an increase in Chinese rhetoric against Lai and follow the heels of the US defense minister Pete Hegseth’s visit to Asia, in which he repeatedly criticized Beijing.
China’s military used ships, planes and artillery to practice blockade on the island, strike strikes on the ground and maritime destinations as well as air duties for the “coordination of the test forces in combat,” said Beijing’s East Theater Command in a statement.
This is not the first time that China either simulated an attack or put Taiwan under a lock. Last May, three days after the inauguration of Lai, the Chinese armed forces organized war games to simulate the fulfillment of full control over areas west of the so-called first chain of island and carry out live fire rocket exercises.
China democratically sees Taiwan as his own territory and loathes Lai as a “separatist”. In a video in which his boring announcement was accompanied, he called the Eastern Theater Command as “parasite” in English and represented him as a green beetle, which was held by chopsticks over a burning Taiwan.
The government of Taiwan condemned the exercises, whereby the presidential office said that China was “generally recognized by the international community as a troublemaker” and the government has the trust and the ability to defend itself.
The government of Taiwan rejects Beijing’s claims for sovereignty and says that only the island’s population can decide their future.
Two high -ranking Taiwanese officials announced Reuters that more than 10 Chinese military ships near the 24 nautical mile (44 km) approached Taiwan’s contingent zone, and Taiwan sent his own warships to answer.
Taiwan has not discovered a living fire through the Chinese military, the officials said.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the exercises are “legitimate and necessary measures to defend national sovereignty and the protection of national unity”.
“China’s reunification is an unstoppable trend – it will happen and it has to happen,” said Guo Jiakun, a spokesman, at a regular press conference on Tuesday.
Taiwan sends warships
The Department of Defense in Taiwan said in a statement that China’s Shandong Aircraft Carrier Group entered the island’s reaction area on Monday, and added that it was sent in response to military aircraft and ships and activated land -based rocket systems.
The exercises took place after Hegseth left the region in Japan and the Philippines, where he criticized China and said that Japan was “indispensable” for combating Chinese aggression.
A high-ranking security officer from Taiwan announced Reuters, referring to internal assessments that Beijing had to avoid in front of the US China trade talks in order to avoid “perceived confrontation” with Washington and thus become taiwan.
“Taiwan is her best apology. Therefore, you have decided to start such military exercises as soon as the US defense minister Asia left Asia,” said the official.
The US message, the American Institute in Taiwan, said that the United States will continue to support the island.
“Once again, China has shown that it is not a responsible actor and has no problem to endanger the security and prosperity of the region,” said a spokesman in a statement.
“Close in”
After the drilling of the drills, China’s military released a number of propaganda videos in a quick episode, in which Chinese warships and fighter aircraft, which Taiwan creeps up, wob
A video of a poster that accompanies the exercises entitled “Closing in” and surrounded the Chinese armed forces around the island was published at the Weibo of the Eastern Theater Command.
This was followed by a video entitled “Shell” with President Lai as a green cartoon -bug -Laich parasites on the entire island on the Wechat page of the Eastern Theater Command.
“Parasite poisoning in the island of Taiwan. Parasit Holowing Island Out. Parasit Ultimate Destruction,” said the animation.
Wellington Koo Wellington Koo said that such rhetoric was not conducive to peace and “showed its provocative character”.
In a third video, “Subdue Demons and Vanquish Evils”, showed Sun Wukong, the magical monkey king from the Ming dynasty “Travel to the west” when it is shown in the “Black Myth: Wukong” kit video game.
It begins with the title of the video that flashes over the screen and the Chinese mythical warrior drives on clouds before being cut to the film material of Chinese fighter planes.
A fourth poster that was published later in the day and published with the title “Hüllkurve Advance” had the Chinese characters of his title position over the island and ships and bomber aircraft to the northwest and southeast.
Taiwan’s Koo announced that the PLA should first concentrate on solving its problems with corruption instead of destroying peace and stability in the region.
China’s military has undergone a comprehensive KstARR corruption cleaning in recent years, in which former Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu was replaced in October 2024.
China’s Ministry of Defense did not immediately answer Koo’s statements when asked for comments.
The Taiwanese security source, citing internal ratings, said China, tried to deal with exercises to distract his soldiers and prevent corruption from being discussed with each other.
China’s coast guard said it was also participated in the exercises and said it was “inspection and recording, interceptual and detention inputs against unjustified ships” in order to show the exercise of “legitimate jurisdiction” about Taiwan.
The Global Times, which belongs to the daily newspaper of the People’s Daily of the Chinese Chinese Communist Party, said that the exercise had not received a code name to show that the Chinese armed forces that surround the island “have become a normal practice” and Zhang Chi from the National Defense University.
“Through a number of exercises that have been held in the Taiwan road in recent years, the PLA has improved its ability to prepare for war and fighting battles,” added the article on the Wixin Social Media page of the paper.
