Transgender women are prohibited from playing in the women’s football teams in England in England, according to a judgment of the Supreme Court in the Great Britain, the leadership committee of Sport on Thursday.
The Football Association (FA) said that it had decided to change its rules that made it possible to play transgender athletes in women’s football teams if they had reduced testosterone levels. The Scottish Football Association made a similar decision last week.
Great Britain’s highest court issued a judgment two weeks ago in which a woman was born organic for anti -discrimination purposes for anti -discrimination purposes. The head of the Equality and Human Rights Commission said after the decision that transgender women from women toilets, hospital stations and sports teams would be excluded.
While the judgment was cheered on by some feminist groups, it was convicted by trans law groups who said that it would have a broad and adverse influence on everyday life.
The FA said its policy was to make sport as many people accessible as possible, but it would make changes if laws, science or operations of “basic football” change.
“We understand that this for people who simply want to play the game they love in the gender with which they want to identify themselves simply want to play, and we contact the registered transgender women who are currently playing to explain the changes and how they can continue to be involved in the game,” said the FA in a statement.
It was not clear how many players would be affected by the guideline, which would come into force on June 1st.
Transgender people in the USA say they are concerned about what will come after President Donald Trump signed an executive order in which he said that his government only recognizes two genders who are assigned at birth.
