Switzerland’s first lounges, Zurich Airport
The first Swiss lounges in Terminals A and E are exceptional. Great food, good selection of Swiss drinks and wines. The lounge in Terminal E has a great view. Both have excellent shower facilities which are the best and cleanest I have seen in any lounge. Website

Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge – Garden, Hamad International Airport, Doha

The Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Doha’s Hamad International Airport North Terminal Extension boasts excellent facilities including a gym, as well as amazing views of the garden garden. The experience is top notch with the range of Diptyque toiletries available on premises. Website

Emirates Business Class Lounge at Dubai International Airport, Terminal 3

For me there is no better start to a long haul flight than a couple of pints half full with a VSOP and a few cigarettes to follow it. There are more and more places around the world to enjoy such luxury, apart from the Dubai Emirates Terminal 3 lounge. Generally, the gate is less than a five-minute walk, and boarding directly on the upper deck of a 380 before settling in for a 16-hour flight is truly the golden age of travel. Website

Cathay Pacific The Pier Lounge, Hong Kong International Airport

Cathay Pacific’s The Pier Lounge at Gate 65 of Hong Kong International Airport makes the most enviable bowl of and and noodles. I have searched for similar in HK and NYC to no avail. It’s not too spicy, the sauce is a perfect consistency and has just the right amount of peanut flavor. The lobby is very spacious, with different rooms each with its own atmosphere. The design is attractive, professional but at the same time relaxing. Oh and I’d be remiss not to mention the char siu bao. Steamed, always warm and great tasting. Website

United Polaris Lounge, San Francisco International Airport

The United Polaris Lounge in the International Terminal at San Francisco Airport stands out above the rest.
Its modern minimalist style and decor give it a clean and spacious atmosphere. The first floor houses a series of large private shower facilities, which as a business traveler are invaluable. Separately, that floor is also equipped with a number of nightgowns, another very nice feature.
The second floor offers a pleasant, free-standing restaurant with attentive service and a varied menu. If pressed for time, regular self-help food options always exceed expectations. The bar is a delightful social focal point, with bartenders offering a wide variety of expertly crafted drinks.
Insider tip: try Duckhorn or Groth Napa Valley wines! Website
