The newly appointed Foreign Minister Anita Anita accused Israel of using a lack of food as a political instrument in his operation in Gaza Strip, and asked for further work with Hamas, the militant group, which controls the Palestinian enclave.
Israel has completed the Gaza Strip since the beginning of March and resumed his military campaign against Hamas after the collapse of a ceasefire contract, in which thousands of assault cars entered the enclave.
The risk of hunger and mass riflers is increasing in Gaza, warns the World Health Organization. Palestinian health officers say that dozens of children have died of malnutrition since March, in the month in which Israel blocked all aids.
“We cannot allow the further use of food as a political instrument … Over 50,000 people have died from the consequences of aggression caused against the Palestinians and the Gazaner in Palestine. The use of food as a political instrument is simply unacceptable,” Anand told reporters before a cabinet meeting.
“We still have to work towards a ceasefire. We have to make sure that we have a two-state solution, and Canada will continue to keep this position.”
According to the local health officers, the campaign of Israel has killed more than 52,900 Palestinians. It left the Gaza on the sidelines of famine, auxiliary groups and international agencies.
Israel denies that there is famine and accuses Hamas of causing hunger by stealing help for civilians.
Prime Minister Mark Carney appointed Anand to her new post on Tuesday. She replaced Mélanie Joly, who had been in the job for more than three years.
On October 7, 2023, Israel entered the retaliation for the attack on South Israeli communities led by Hamas in Gaza, in which, according to Israeli Tallies, around 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken to Gaza as hostages.
