A Korean student of the Korean Americans Columbia University, who took part in a legal permanent American protest in the USA, sued the administration of US President Donald Trump on Monday to prevent her deportation.
The 21 -year -old Yunseo Chung has lived in the United States since she was seven, but her legal team was informed two weeks ago that her lawful, constant resident status was revoked for the southern district of New York, according to the court report at the US district court.
The Trump government says that according to lawsuit, its US presence hindered its foreign policy agenda. Chung has not yet been arrested. Immigration officers have made several visits to their apartments looking for them.
Measures against Chung “are part of a greater pattern of the attempted repression of the US government of constitutionally protected protest activities and other forms of speech,” says Monday.
“The oppression of the government has focused specifically on university students who express themselves in solidarity with Palestinians and critically against the ongoing military campaign of the Israeli government in Gaza.”
A spokeswoman for the US Ministry of Homeland Protection (DHS) claimed that Chung was committed to a behavior, even when she was arrested by the police during a protest at Barnard College that DHS described as “pro-Hamas”.
The DHS spokesman has not further explained the peculiarities of this relevant behavior, but said that she was “looking for the immigration law after the catchment procedure” and will have the chance to present her case before an immigration judge.
Trump has undertaken to deport foreign pro-Palestinian demonstrators and accuse them of supporting the militant group Hamas, building hurdles for US foreign policy and being anti-Semitic.
Demonstrators, including some Jewish groups, say that the government incorrectly associated its criticism of Israel and the support of Palestinian rights with anti -Semitism and support for Hamas. Human rights representatives have convicted the government’s movements.
