Sudan is 'biggest humanitarian disaster in history': Head of International Rescue Committee

According to the group's annual list of global humanitarian crises, about 10 percent of people in humanitarian need worldwide are in Sudan, which has been wracked by a brutal civil war since April 2023. “It is not only the biggest humanitarian disaster today , but it is the biggest humanitarian disaster in history,” Miliband warned. He called for aid crossings to be opened and for the powers arming both sides in the conflict to stop.
