The Colombian singer Shakira said on Monday that she would take up her world tour again on Monday evening in Lima, Peru, after the cancellation of a concert over the weekend due to a stomach disease.
The four-time Grammy winner informed the news on her Instagram account and said that her concert in the Estadio Nacional Soccer Stadium in Lima will begin at 8:15 p.m. local time.
The 48 -year -old Shakira arrived in Peru on Friday evening and was to appear on Sunday and Monday. The country is the second stop on its Latin American tour, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, after two nights in Brazil last week.
However, she canceled the first of her two shows on Sunday and informed the fans on social media about the fact that she had been taken to the hospital due to a belly state.
“I am very sad that I will not be able to enter the stage today. I was deeply emotionally and excited about reunification with my beloved Peruvian audience,” she said.
The fans appeared in front of a hospital in Lima on Sunday evening to show their support for the Latin music superstar. The artist said that she was diagnosed with an abdominal disease and that her two shows planned in the city would not be able.
Latin fans warmly welcomed Shakira and gathered at airports to greet them.
“Thanks for such an emotional reception, Lima!” She posted on Instagram on Saturday.
Shakira wrote on X that her team is working on a new date for the show canceled on Sunday.
