The Palestinian Authority bans Al Jazeera’s broadcasts in the West Bank

The Palestinian Authority on Thursday ordered the suspension of Al Jazeera’s broadcasts, a move the Qatar-based television network condemned as reminiscent of Israeli practices. “It is ironic that even the far-right Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority have retaliated against Al Jazeera,” said FRANCE 24 Jerusalem correspondent Noga Tarnopolsky. “(But) the Palestinian Authority is making a lot of public diplomatic efforts to put itself on the right side of the incoming Trump administration,” she added.
