Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to put Ukraine in a form of temporary administration in order to enable new elections and the signature of key contracts to achieve a settlement in the war, the Russian news agencies reported early Friday.
During a visit in the northern port of Murmansk in the middle of the US tests, Putin’s comments will create a settlement against the conflict by restoring the connections to Russia and dealing with both Moscow and Kyiv in separate conversations.
The Kremlin leader said he believed that the US President Donald Trump really wanted peace.
Russia’s complete invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 triggered hundreds of thousands of dead and injured, displaced millions of people, the cities in rubble and the sharpest confrontation between Moscow and the west.
Putin’s proposal by a temporary administration in connection with his many years of complaint seemed that the authorities of Ukraine are not a legitimate negotiating partner as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stayed in power over the end of his mandate in May 2024.
“In principle, of course, temporary administration in Ukraine under the patronage of the United Nations, the United States, European countries and our partners could be introduced,” Putin was quoted in talks with seafarers in the harbor.
“This would be to prevent democratic elections and bring a capable government to the power that enjoys the trust of the people and then talks to them about a peace treaty.”
Putin contrasts Trump with bidges
He said Trump’s efforts to continue with direct conversations with Russia -in contrast to the previous US President Joe Biden, who avoided contacts -showed Frieden.
“In my opinion, the newly elected president of the United States wants to end the conflict for several reasons,” the agencies Putin quoted.
A spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House, which was asked about Putin’s comments on the temporary administration, said that the government in Ukraine was determined by its constitution and the country’s people.

France and Great Britain tried to expand support for a foreign “reassurance” in the event of an armistice with Russia, although Moscow rejects any presence of foreign troops in Ukraine.
Ukraine prohibited from holding elections during the war law
Zelenskyy rejected all the term in which he questioned his legitimacy, and said that Ukraine was legally excluded from the war election after war law and a survey under war conditions would be impossible in any case.
Zelenskyy has repeatedly accused Putin in the past few days to continue with the conflict.
In his comments, Putin said that Russia was steadily pretending to achieve the goals in his Ukraine surgery.
Russia, Putin said, is for “peaceful solutions for conflicts, including this, with peaceful means, but not at our expense”.
“Our troops keep the strategic initiative during the entire military contact line,” he said.
“We are gradually – maybe not as quickly as some like – but still persistent and with the trust that the agencies quoted at the beginning of this operation,” the agencies quoted him.
More than three years after the start of a complete invasion of Ukraine, the Russian armed forces now hold around 20 percent of the country, with Moscow annexing four regions. His forces have also restored a large part of the area that lost in August last August in a Ukrainian idea into its western Course region.
Putin praised the efforts to look for a solution from the BRICS group that promotes them as an alternative to traditional alliances – China and India for praise.
He said Russia was ready to work with many countries, including North Korea, to end the war.
According to western and Ukrainian sources, more than 11,000 North Korean troops were sent to the Russian armed forces in the Kursk region, although Moscow did not confirm this.
Putin said Russia was also ready to work with Europe, but added that Europe “inconsistent”.
European countries, he said, tried to “slide around us on the nose, but it’s okay, we got used to it. I hope we don’t make mistakes based on excessive trust in our so -called partners.”
