Lewis Hamilton’s father Anthony Hamilton is set to take on a role within FIA as part of a new driver’s development program.
Hamilton, who has worked on an advisory capacity over the past 18 months for FIA, is understood to be “highly motivated” to take on the new role.
The 65-year-old is expected to be confirmed in his new role in June when FIA begins its new driver development path.
Lewis Hamilton has appeared to be in better conditions with FIA Mohamed Ben Sulayem, who has been impressed with Anthony’s advisory work.
Lewis claimed that Ben Sulayem used words with a “racial element” when asked F1 drivers not to swear on the radio while he compared them to the rappers.
Recently on Thursday before the weekend Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, driver Ferrari criticized the saga about the oath after FIA lowered fines for offensive language.
“It’s funny. I really don’t know. Nothing I say will make any difference in it,” Hamilton said.
“It seems a little mess there at the moment. There are a lot of changes that are needed, surely. But it doesn’t really affect me. I don’t see what has happened since then.”
