Daniel Dubois, the World IBF heavyweight champion, is convinced that Tyson Fury will return and is open to boxing the former champion after his indisputable war for the title with Oleksandr Usyk.
Former Kampion Fury announced his retirement at the beginning of the year, but has teased this week that he could still turn to boxing.
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports NewsDubois gave his opinion on a possible return of rage.
“I think he will come back eventually,” Dubois said. “When I beat Ustyk, I can fight it else. Who knows?
“There are so many great weights at the moment. He will be desperate to get back to the mix.”
Throughout his career Dubois has not departed from the challenges. The 27-year-old has won his latest fighting since his first clash with Ulyk, a record that includes a knockout victory over Anthony Joshua in Wembley.
Dubois now enters his July 19 match with Ulyk with all four leading world titles in line and full of confidence. He stated that he is a “different warrior” from when he first fought Usyk in Poland in 2023.
“You can see from my last three fights that I have come massively, dance and borders,” Dubois said.
“From (fighting) Jarrell Miller, (Philip) Hrgovic and then Anthony Joshua, I am a completely different warrior now, another man. You guys will witness something really, really special.
“The first undisputed (British heavyweight) champion since Lennox Lewis, I can’t wait to do it.”
When he announced his second battle with Ustyk, Dubois pushed his rival when they confronted the famous Wembley terrain.
“Next a fun sport, so it’s all part of the show. I think these things should happen, and I’m loving it,” Dubois said.
Londoner is convinced that he will get the best of Usyk when they enter the ring again.
“The fun and the games will have stopped by then. I will be completely in the fight mode, but I can’t wait to dip it. Inhaling the atmosphere,” he said.
“His camp going against my camp, but the night of the war, you guys will see something amazing. He won’t laugh at night, I can assure you that.
“I win. It”s simple and simple. I win, I hit my head and go home with golden gloves. I can’t wait. It will be electric.”
