Derek Chisora is the mandatory challenger for the IBF title of Daniel Dubois’s heavyweight, ‘says promoter Frank Warren.
British British British Otto Wallin twice to win a win of the points in his 49th career in February, which was appointed as an eliminator of the right to challenge the current IBF Dubois champion.
Dubois is currently following an indisputable war for the world heavyweight title against Oleksandr Usyk, WBC, WBO and WBA Champion, but Ukrainian has also been ordered to meet mandatory WBO protection against Joseph Parker.
“Chisora is (a mandatory IBF),” promoter Frank Warren told Sky Sports.
“He won him in his last war and everyone knew what the war would be. He is mandatory for our man, ‘Dan Dan (Dubois)’, so it’s the position he is in.”
Martin Bakole was set to fight Efe Ajagba in a final IBF eliminator, but the Congolese contender is no longer eligible for an eliminator after a second round loss in Parker in February, leaving Chisora in Pole’s position to face Dubois.
Chisora, who was detained by Tyson Fury in a WBC title fight in 2022, has suggested that he retire after his 50th war.
Warren said: “He wants a great war to come out. Eddie (Hearn) and I have had some conversations today and will in due course notify people our views on what we will do.
“We are both involved in his career, he started with me. He has been with me for a long time, he was with me for the latest fighting.
“We want to hand over that 50’s war. I want to work something between us that we both walk out.”
