England’s Laurie Canter claimed the second DP title, in his career in his career in a three-player Play off at Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship after Pablo Larrazabal had dramatically destroyed his chance of victory.
Spain’s Larrazabal had appeared determined to obtain his 10th victory in his career as he went down the 18th round of the last round holding a lead with a blow to the English duo of Canter and Dan Brown.
But despite finding green with his second shot in the last hole, the 41-year-old seemed to let the nerves better improve, as he inexplicably three-putte by 41 meters to record Bogey- his single round of the round and throw in a play off.
To complicate his misery, Larrazabal then found his right-wing water with his car when he returned to the 18th thesis in the first additional hole, all but ending the hopes of the 41-year-old for the title there And then.
This strong shock blow opened the British door, with the canter that it would benefit thanks to a 437-Oborre hole-book and then a great 9-Herkuri in the green that saw the ball from the back and finish inside two legs of Pin.
For his loan, Larrazabal produced his excellent approach after receiving his penalty fall with a water stroke, but a later subsequent bumper meant that Canter finally had the luxury of having two Putter attempts to title. After all he only needed one.
Brown was never in quarrel, meanwhile, in the Play off hole after finding bunkers with its first two shots and also recorded a noise.
Canter had shot 69 in the last round while Larrazabal and Brown both had 70. The trio ended on the 14th for the week, a blow ahead of David Puig – who recorded Sunday’s best round of 64 – Richie Ramsay of Scotland (68), Ivan Cantero (69) and Martin Couvra (70).
