England’s Marco Penge claimed his Tour World Tour’s title in Hainan Classic just two months after returning from a betting stop.
The pledge was given a three-month detention with a month suspended in December last year after he “put bets on numerous golf events” in a violation of the tournament program. He does not bet for himself.
He has then placed him behind him, ending the third in the Open South African Championship Investtec in March before registering a three -stroke victory in China to enter the winner’s circle for the first time at this level.
The pledge began the day in a part of the lead, but found himself a shot after a Sean Crocker’s charge as he started nine Sunday.
The 26-year-old then produced a hat-trick in bird time at 12, 13 and 14 to compete from the tracking package and sealing the victory.
American Crocker ended up in a tie for the second along with Christoffer Reitan, Norway on 14 under par, with Dane Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen another blow.
Penge said, “This obviously means the world to me.
“Something’s something I’ve always dreamed of reaching – win the biggest scene.
“After my rest was the thing I wanted to prove to myself and try everyone to show what the player I am.
“My Caddy, during that time, was my rock. And my wife and my whole team – I wouldn’t be where I am without them. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
Pledge also reserved his ticket to the US PGA Championship in Quail Hollow after the third came in the Asian tournament ranking.
Keita Nakajima led the ranking after finishing in a tie for her 11th in the Mission Hills Resort Haikou, while Eugenio Chacarra was second and third, with all three players now going to the second Major of next year.
