The dramatic dramatic strike of Cyriel Dessers’s detention gave Rangers a recent 4-3 win over Dundee at an attractive Prime Minister’s meeting in Dens Park.
Dark Blues striker Simon Murray scored after only two minutes and captain Joe Shaughnessy added a second in the 19th minute against scattered visitors.
The temporary chief of Barry Ferguson was given a longevity when Shaughnessy scored a goal before the break, with cakes, making his 100th competitive appearance for Rangers after losing a series of chances.
The Scott Tiffone striker made him 3-1 in the 62nd minute and all points seemed to stay home, but Rangers Skiper James Taernier lowered the deficit in the 76th minute before the deputy Tom Lawrence dramatically flattened five minutes later with another good strike.
And in the third minute of the detention time, dessers demonstrated his unintelligible attitude when he withdrew to score the winner and complete an extraordinary game.
Rangers, with striker Hamza Igamane in for damaged Vaclav Cerny, were surprised when the local team went into an early lead.
Finlay Robertson, who took over the injured midfielder Lyall Cameron who is attached to Ibrox over the summer, bent in a corner from the right and Murray took in front of the tavern and volunteer of Rangers Jack Butland.
Ferguson’s side seemed bad, with any entry into their penalty area a potential problem, but in the 16th minute, Dessers was clearly sent by a Mohamed Duda head only for his low car to be blocked by goalkeeper Trevor Carson and the local team defended the corner.
The weakest protection from the Rangers which began with Igamane not cleaning his lines after a certain part ended with Butland fumbling a head from Shaughnessy, then saving from Murray who was also unmarked before the Irish would knock the ball loose on the second endeavor. A VAR check for offside confirmed the purpose.
Robertson subsequently exploded a shot in Butland but Judge David Dickinson had already been blown up for a foul from Josh Mulligan to Yilmaz, in facilitating players and surrounding rangers.
Ibrox’s side eventually crashed.
Carson escaped from the long-range Igamane rolling, then made a better saving from the head of dessers from the later corner, but the Rangers took a break in the 43rd minute when Shaughnessy Feta Tavern’s intersection from deep to the right from 12 Jard.
Carson rescued twice as much from Dessers after Light Blues finished the strong half although Ferguson made changes to the interval, with Ianis Hagi and Bailey Rice replacing Connor Barron and Leon Balogu providing a return to a four back.
The game hastened from bottom to bottom.
Tiffone somehow lost by some yards from a cross of milling minutes later before dessers finally had the ball in the Dundee net after rounding Carson just for VAR to rule offside.
Dessers headed the Tavern’s intersection from the near distance, but the Dundee Adewumi also lost some chances, losing the target from a murray break, then lobbying up over the grass when passing against Butland.
However, the Taysider reset their lead when Tiffoney traversed in the Rangers box, the past Jeft – for Yilmaz – and shot the butland past, thus making changes to its early loss of horror.
The wonderful truck driving from the edge of the box that Carson defeated and when Lawrence, Duver, ceased at least low Carson from 25 yard was everything square – but more drama was near.
Murray destroyed a blow against Butland’s post at the time of the detention before the dessers took advantage of the hesitation in the protection of Dundee at the other end to send the Rangers fans to the kidnappings – and there was still time for Carson to do two other savings from the attacker.
Dessers: It was a rotating game
Hero of the purpose of the Cyriel Dessers Rangers in Sky Sports:
“I’m still trying to find out what happened just!
“From the first minute to the 92nd minute was a rotary, and it was a lot of pain for 91 minutes, but then, yes, to win this feels good.
“This team, the mentality not to give up, shows again – unfortunately we have to show it a lot – how well we are back.
“It would be much easier if we give the first fist and they have to come.”
Ferguson: We never gave up
Temporary Chief of Rangers Barry Ferguson in Sky Sports:
“My thoughts are really happy with the three points, but in general I have seen so many old habits crawl.
“I just had a word with them about it and I won’t let this happen.
“Something’s something we have to work for. We have a full week now and that’s something I, my staff and the players will pass.
“There were stages in the game that I was a little bored of ever, but one thing I will say about them was that they showed the character again. They never gave up.”
