Complete England and World Player of the Year Ellie Kildunne Heavenly Red roses have a chance to “rewrite their Rugby World Cup story in a tale” in household land in a “Golden Age for Women’s Sport”.
The last two finals of the Rugby World Cup for Rugby have seen red roses make it in the Marquee test in the sport, just to lose in New Zealand in both cases.
In 2017, Ferns Black sailed in a 41-32 win over England in Ravenhill in Belfast, but the 2021 final – which took place in 2022 due to Covid – saw red roses as red favorites, just to dropped into a 34 -31 loss in Eden Park.
Now – between August 22 and September 27 this year – England will host a Rugby World Cup for the first time since 2010, and Kildunne has been fixed in returning the heart attack into glory.
“She (the World Cup final in 2022) was heartbroken, but we gave everything we could have done. No player left anything in that field,” Kildunne said.
“I really don’t follow me, if I’m honest. Rugtesi rugby, at the end of the day you either win or lose. We’ve lost and, since then, we’ve learned a lot of lessons.
“We’ve got new coaches, new players. The New Zealand team is a different team and we have beaten them several times.
“It was never revenge and it will not be a few new Zealand players who would go out at night.
“I like to set the goal that I hope transcends my imagination.”
The effects of a world home profit cup for women’s rugby and women’s sport in the UK have the potential to be very large.
The present is a special time in women’s sport, according to Kildunne.
“I strongly believe that we are in the golden age of women’s sports,” she added. “Get Lionesses’ likes and what happened after the euro and their success and what has been brought to them, but also the wider community in women’s sport.
“I was a true believer that would happen that moment (for us) after the last cup of the world. I just remember I thought I would line people in England because I wanted it to grow for everyone. But I became very soon in injustice my opinion.
“One of my favorite moments was when we played France in Twickenham in 2023.
“I remember put my hand up against the glass on the bus on the way to the stadium and seeing the sea of fans who had made the trip come. We sold over 50,000 tickets and had not previously done.
“Win or lose. We will make a difference and we will have the ability to inspire more people than we will be able to ever imagine.”
Crowned women’s best player on the planet – ‘my year was full of highlights’
Back in December, Kildunne was named the world player of the year after a series of sensational shows for England.
Red Roses won six other Grand Slam, with Kildunne ending up as a high pressure of the tournament in nine, and the 25-year-old then played at the Paris Olympics for the UK Side Side over the summer.
“The whole year was full of highlights,” she said. “It felt like the whole year was a pronounced wrapping. From having one six successful nations, the group’s feeling led us to a place where we can express themselves both inside and outside the field.
“Love not only for our game or style of play, but love within the group was something that meant a lot to me, and that was definitely one of the highlights.
“Going to the Olympics and having that opportunity was definitely a pronounced point, and it was extraordinary to do it.
“For the next World Cup, we know that teams appear for big tours, and we definitely know that it will be a war and take a lot of hard effort and training to put us in a position where we will To be in the final.
“I don’t doubt we have the ability to do it, but it doesn’t come easily. Women’s sport and women’s rugby is growing so fast that you never know what is coming around the corner.
“It is important for us to focus on ourselves and the games we have taken before us. Now is everything for one percent and what we can do individually to put ourselves in the best place for the final.”
