Emanuel Navarrete returns to set the WBO super-featherweight title in line against Charly Suarez.
After an excellent Knockout victory over Oscar Valdez in his latest war, Navarrete meets Suarez in Pechanga Arena in San Diego, Live in The action of SPY sports From 1am on Sunday morning.
Navarrete is a comprehensive fighter, who throws punches in extraordinary volume with a brutal knockout ratio of over 80 percent in 42 professional periods.
A world champion in the Super-Bantamweight, the weight of the weights and now the super-mandy, Navarrete found a slight step a step far away when he lost a divided Denys Berinchyk decision for the WBO title last year.
He has not excluded even though another effort for a world title in a fourth grade of weight. “We have to protect my title first. We will work hard and take the title at home,” Navarrete said.
“After, we’ll see if I stay at 130 bs or go up again.”
He withdrew from his first loss in 12 years to dominate Valdez in a match in December.
“My performance against Oscar Valdez was my way to show that I am at 100 percent now. Now there is no doubt about it. So all we have to do is prepare well to achieve my goals,” Navarrete said.
“We know what happened the last time I was in San Diego. We didn’t get the victory. We lost against Denys Berinchyk in our attempt to win a title in 135 bs. But now, protecting at 130 BS, we want to make people know I’m ready to move forward with my career.
“I prepared for an excellent war. We know Suarez is coming for my title. So I want a great war so that everyone can see that I am ready to continue on the way to victory.”
Suarez, in contrast, has much less professional experience. In 18th periods, the 2016 Olympian by the Philippines is moving through his first world title war, while Navarrete is a 15th veteran.
“I prayed for this war. And here it is. The opportunity has come, and I’ve got it. And we will not lose,” Suarez said. “I am bringing all my amateur experience in this war. That’s it.
“This is a good opportunity for me to represent my country and tell the world that the Philippines are good in boxing and that the Philippines and the Mexicans put great clashes.”
