Analysis: Man City is unknown from last season
Sam Blitz i Sky Sports’:
Pep Guardiola will destroy this season of Manchester City with a vindictive punch. Could this season have gone worse for the serial winner?
City had to be chosen to be 22 points on top of the Premier League. Now their best player will lose the last matches of a Champions League qualification race for which they are not responsible.
Haaland was just returning in shape. His mid -season network was behind him – with 14 goals in his last 17 games for club and country.
The city will now have to navigate the waters forward without it. They are increased by the fact that the fifth place will ensure the Champions League qualification – but they are not even sure of it, with Newcastle located sixth one point behind them with a game in hand.
The city has an appropriate replacement in Omar Marmoush – which justified the credentials of his city by marking immediately after replacing the hit Haaland.
But, with Rodri Avoid, Stone’s defense, Akanji and AKE were injured, Kyle Walker borrowed to Italy and the trio of Ederson, Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne fighting for form, fitness and confidence – are absolutely unknown from last season.
