England’s Mimi Rhodes claimed her second title of the European Ladies Tournament in Jurburg Lades Open, making it a back-back win in its novice season.
Leading from three shots going to the last round, Rhodes began the day before Casandra Alexander of South Africa and Lauren Walsh, Ireland, who were in a tie for second place.
Rhodes produced the last day composed in the Golf Club modderfon, by carding three birds and posting a two-nine round of 71 to finish the week with a winning result of 14 under, a clear from Alexandria.
Despite hitting it a little tall on 18, which almost saw a play-off on the cards, Rodos was able to keep it cute and take the first for victory.
“Honestly not immersed yet, I’m still in shock,” the 23-year-old said. “I am really in a high and lost for words.
“I’ve worked so hard for the moment. I can’t thank anyone enough, family and friends at home, all my coaches all over the world – I have a lot of them!”
She added: “I would never imagine it, it’s honestly a dream come true and play so well in my career so well. I can’t expect the rest of the season to continue the good golf.
“Amazing is amazing to win in another place and that she is my second in a row, I was given a great confidence for the rest of the season and my pro career.”
Rhodo’s latest success comes hot on the heels of her triumph at Ford Women NSW Open in Australia at her last appearance in March.
Rhodes continues in the footsteps of Linn Grant, with Swedes also winning twice in bounce in her novice year. In 2022, Grant claimed that both ladies Mithra open and Scandinavian of Volvo Mixed Car. She also won Mrs. Jurburg open in the same year, which was her first start on the permit.
